International Driving Permit

Does anyone know exactly how long I can use an international driving permit for? I am at the moment getting answers ranging from 15 days to a year.

I think some questions shouldn't be asked. You just get confused.

Thanks

In Qatar, six months, because IDP can be used only if your visa is a tourist/visit visa and maximum extension for a visit visa is six months.

Before using IDP, check with the car insurance company too. They may restrict you to use only a rented car, so if for example you borrow your friend's car and get into an accident the insurance company may reject the claim.

So this confirms that it is stupid to ask for such advice on QL because people may mislead you

Yes IDPs are applied from your home country

That's strange because the Hukoomi website says six months from the date of entry ..

So it's better to go to the police station and ask for yourself

@1998hitman: I thought an international driving license could only be applied for and taken from your home country

Why don't you check the government websites? On QL you will only get assumptions.
