I'm a tight Jeans Hejabi!

Hejab on tight jeans / tops ... lots of makeup ... joking around / laughing loudly ... acting obscenely ... holding hands with and hugging guys ... staring and flirting ... dancing in hejab ...

So Which of the two groups in this pic you think crossed the modesty line. ?

Marco come on you said in your opener "laughing loudly ... acting obscenely ... holding hands with and hugging guys ... staring and flirting ... dancing in hejab ..."

BTW, are you saying that the picture was taken in Qatar? Also, Qatari women would always walk around with their abayas on, they can put whatever they want underneath it, as long as it's covered.

Mike Shamrock: Where in my posts did I attempt to tell the Muslim women how to dress or what to wear?

My argument was about how the people in this country seem to be quite comfortable with the blatant display of boobs and hips by Hejabi women in this country (Talk abt super-tight jeans and completely see through tight tops and skirts) while the Expat woman is being constantly reminded to dress modestly!

Marco: not to pull your leg, but before you continue telling women how to practice islam, what to wear, how to talk in public. Would you mind sharing with us your thoughts on some the records/songs/lyrics from David Guetta?

- Sexy b***h

- I wanna make you sweat (a remix of snoop dogg's song - wet) Wet from what, humidity? yeah right!

- F**k me I'm famous (the name of one of his best albums)

Isn't your avatar showing David Guetta's One Love album cover? Or you are going to BS me by saying that you will only listen to those songs with no objectionable language? Well, there are, but still with some objectionable content, don't you think?

I'll tell you what I think and please... I am not trying to disrespect islam or any muslims in this forum: the two hijabis are looking very good from this perspective. They should keep wearing those jeans.

I agree with FathimaH, solid points there :)

I know of several instances where a lady wears Hejab, but her husband likes her to dress in a more 'modern' manner, especially since he also has a 'roving eye'. I know that the solution appears to be simple... do what is said in the Quran; follow the dress code guidelines. But there is a conflict nevertheless for the wife. How does she resolve it?

Well, she may be wearing a Hejab, and tight top and jeans under it. But what counts the most is her 'Neeyah', intention, and that is something God alone knows, and will judge accordingly as He pleases.

As per my small brain, (knowledge) the one who wearing the hijab, they are not following the book of Allah (SW), so please dont consider it as a Muslim girls. I find the other two's are more modesty than this two hijabis.

they are disgusting... and you can see a lot in this materialist world.

For your info. ther are dress code for Men also. dont just categorize it is only for ladies, and men can do anything.

In my point of view. a Muslim means, who follow the Quran and the Authentic hadeeth of Prophet (PBUH).

If it's from an Islamic perspective only, then yes I do see many women wearing what they have assumed to be the correct hijab but what is not in accordance to the Quran and authentic narrations of the Prophet's.

Perhaps they are ignorant,or they are not yet ready to adorn the full hijab, or perhaps they are not really doing it for the sake of Islam but for cultural reasons, etc. And last but not least perhaps they are not even Muslims and simply wearing hijab as a fad(has anyone seen the non Muslim hijabis on you tube?).

Either ways until and unless I find out I'd reserve my comments.Even then I'd rather not talk about them to others but I'll tell the women in question themselves. A person like me is the last person to judge a woman by how she dresses. Less than ten years ago you'd have not been able to tell my faith dressed the way I was Astaghfirullah. As a Muslimah knowing what I was and how my transition took place, Praise be to God, I would never judge another woman. Guidance belongs to God as does judgement. Perhaps these women may not be dressed according to the Quran and Sunnah, but due to them never gossiping, slandering backbiting etc they maybe better than a niqabi who thinks nothing about spreading calumnies and gossip whilst assuming she's most pious simply for wearing the correct hijab.

By alien_guest• 22 May 2012 13:05

So its comes to shows that hijab and other religious instruments cannot be used to preserve the decency of an indivisual . It is in the hands of a particular indivisual to maintain decency.

By Miss Mimi• 22 May 2012 12:44

"their women" I'm sorry, there is no such thing as "your women." Women are not your possessions. We are not owned by one group or another. We are thinking, feeling human beings, just like men, who are perfectly capable of making our own decisions about what to wear and how to act. After all, most of us were taught how to button buttons and zip zippers at a young age.

Picture & text is misleading cleverly.

In the pic. where is '' ..joking around / laughing loudly ... acting obscenely ... holding hands with and hugging guys ... staring and flirting ... dancing in hejab ... ''

Do not mix youth years / college life with old age. [ Religion aside ].

Fatimah : thing is at any anytime in the day I step out the door I am very well shocked at the many many so called Hejabi women running their business around the city with painted faces with a butt length long sleeved top worn with a skin tight, trumpet skirt that very blatantly shows off the Hejabi’s rear and hips .but people will complain about an Expat woman jogging around Aspire Park in sports clothing as defying the

Islamic dress criteria for women!

hijab with tight dress has no value in islam,, not point they wear it,,, they wear it for passion or tradition only. they dont even know the purpose of it.

and what it means will be different from culture to culture, region to region, religion to religion etc. What is modest to me may mean differently to you and vice versa.

For example if a non Muslim/a Muslim not into hijab was to ask me what is considered modest according to Qatari law, I will answer differently from if they were to ask me what it means in Sri Lanka.

And as a Muslimah, if my near and dear were to want to get into hijab and want to know about modesty in an Islamic point of view ONLY,then I would advice them on the correct etiquette of a woman's dress code in Islam, with proof from the Quran and authentic hadiths. Similarly I'll do the same for strangers seeking my advice or asking my view.

In the pic the modest is non hijabi. It was when i came to Gulf i have seen these kinds of ladies, i feel like they are mocking the religion, but now it doesn't bother me at all, even there are many women out there wearing abaya in a revealing manner so that they can show the size of their chest and full make up on.

No worries, everyone is responsible for themselves, as long as you feel comfortable in what you are wearing, and you belief in yourself, and hijab does not always mean islam, many non muslims wear a shawl or scarf just because they like it. And if you are asking if it is an islamic hijab that is a totally different issue.
