Hi All

Well I have finally made the plunge after 3 yrs and I am off to Dubai, however, i am yet to find a good freight company to air freight my gear to Dubai, I dont have much, I have recently sold it all, can someone give me the names, phone numbers, emails, websites of freight companies they have used in the past that were good and if you have used anyone bad let me know so I and others dont use them

Depending on which school you are teaching at and what nationalities you are teaching? Dont expect to get resources there like you do at home, they may take up to 3 mths when you order them, easy things that seem to get done at home school, seem to take forever over here! Experience has been good and bad, the driving is bad, like you have probably heard! Most people are friendly, lots of things to do, i recommend you join a gym like the marriott, dip club etc to relax at on weekends it makes it feel like a holiday, pretty much come over have a go at it and if it is not you, then you can always go home!!!

Use Crown Movers....look em up in the directory there. By far the best. I have moved from the UK to singapore, to Malaysia etc and they have been perfect every time

I noticed you say you're a Phys Ed teacher from this part of the world ... my husband and I are about to move there (August) to start teaching .. what's your experience been like? Good and bad (hopefully mostly good - you stayed 3 years, after all, and most teaching contracts are two).

Any advice about what resources we should bring - ie what's difficult to find there - we teach English and History.

Cheers - and good luck in Dubai

Good luck in Dubai. I assume you know it's more like a builder's yard than Qatar

We used GAC to move to the UK and had good service. Sorry, don't know the e-mail address but do a search on the Net.

They are also in the Q-Tel directory
