IELTS score consideration- Canada Immigration

Hi there. I'm wondering if anyone here has ever tried and been successful in persuading Canada Immigration Visa Officer to consider giving the maximum points for language proficiency even if he/she did not achieve the required points in the IELTS exam. I'm asking this because I got short of only 0.5 points in listening and it's so frustrating that i will have to take the whole exam again because of that. I scored 7 in all areas but the problem is that they require 7.5 points in listening to get all the points in language prof. Unfortunately, that's my only way to be qualified for the permanent residence visa as i don't have any points in adaptability and arranged employment. I hope anyone tried it.

you can actually provide other proofs of language proficiency but the only guaranteed one is an IELTS test result.
Thanks guys for this topic, it's very important for me too,
in fact all my documents are ready and meet the immigration criteria, just they need the english test, which i am lazy to conduct, i wish that i can get soon, so i can send my file
even i'm still confused about the scores for the English test, as it seems i've the same issue that denis has
A friend in need, is A friend indeed!
thanks for that chawlar. i actually have an agent/representative who is based in montreal. his advise is for me to retake the exam. but he also said that it is possible actually to persuade the visa officer to award me all the points but not guaranteed as he is not obliged. I just wanted to know if anyone here has tried it and been successful.
In most cases, especially if your file is complete, you will not be called for interview. In any case you can round off the IELTS Score to next higher figure and thus loss of 0.5 will not matter.

if i get 14 hafiz my total score will only be 65 unfortunately as i am zero in adaptability and arranged employment and can only get 20 in education as i don't have a masters degree or something. my only chance is to get all points in 1st language..
i am sorry mate, you are right, just checked again and edited the info, thanks for the correction.
yes they have changed the requirements to 7.5 for listening and 6.5 for others. I would have passed all if it's still the same. so unfortunate of me. :(
so u get 14.for english u can still make it if total score is 67 or more
hafiz i guess you missed something ...there is clear detail for IETLS band equal to what score
for listening 7.5 = 4 score
for others 6.5 = 4 score

i dont think IOR will benefit. You have to take exam again. luckyly i got 8 in listening and 7 in others.
thanks rock guy. i would have to retake the exam then.. or maybe i should try the IOR. maybe it will make a difference to my score.
no other way, it is specifically mentioned in instruction guide that englist test report is exclusive evidence of language proficiency. You won't be in touch with Immigration officer unless they call you for interview.
But at CIO first they check if you are scoring 67 points or not. and if you dont score 67 they wont process the case.
