Another health workshop/promotional/campaign/pledge etc etc

But when I see then I wonder what is the point of all these campaigns. The fact is that Qatar has an unhealthy climate full of people who over eat and are prone to diabetes. On top of that smoking is high and locals and many non-western expats haven't figured out the purpose of seat belts.

marketing strategy for fitness first- hitting two birds with one stone, they got the two huge companies to sign a contract with them and at the same time getting credits for promoting fitness/health awareness which attracts another huge company contract ;)

Smoking is a hard habit to break, I hope they will allot one smoking area in any offices to avoid non smokers inhaling their smoke. I was in dismay when we visited one client, he was smoking tobacco in his office so it was filled with smoke which stinks, the smell actually stays on your clothes if you sit inside his office for 5 minutes! Aarrgghh.... Lol

An expatriate is someone who has chosen to live in a country other than the one in which he or she legally resides. A Western expatriate is a citizen of a Western nation who has chosen to live in a non-Western country, such as this one..... simple as it's .well unless you intend to beat around the bush. then good luck with that.

Westerners does necessarily equal white marco. Plenty of African-American, Latinos, etc. would consider themselves western and not white. No WHO'S being the racist?

On top of that smoking is high and locals and many non-western expatriates haven't figured out the purpose of seat belts.

So basically you are saying all those Indian, Pilipino, Africans, South Americans and basically anybody non-white (Because there are loads and loads of Brit-Asians, Arab-Americans etc basically the non-white Europeans who are driving in the streets of Doha every day according to your bigoted judgment they inevitably fall under the non-Western expat category because obviously you haven't checked their ID's or passport so you really have no idea what their nationalities are.)

I'm sorry to say this but your last statement is full of bigotry, racism and judgmental arrogance.

It does appear that the majority of the target audience these organizers must have in mind are those who wouldn't care two bits what professionals have to say. However I suppose it's better to be optimistic and think that even if they manage to change the lifestyle of a few self destructive individuals it will not be invain. Specially if he/she is a in an influential position.

I also believe they should have a catch em young attitude and aim to go speak to as much youngsters as they can.School kids, teenagers, etc. Many times, innocent and easily influenced and devoid of all that grown up know it all arrogance, they may respond better than their elders. And changing them will be changing generations to come.
