Sorry ... have met loads pilots from Qatar Airways too. Their English is not perfect either. Sometimes i wonder how they will communicate with the tower control when they try to land the plane. Hehe...

Hey Arzu......Sorry for a personal Q....but by any chance r u Arzu Yeskel (something like that...sorry if i am wrong). I had a e-friend of that name from Turkey.

As for QA, I travelled in that recently while going to New Delhi from Jeddah. It is not bad, though there is scope of improvement. But Doha airport is a mess......just for e.g. people (even women) have to queue up for 30 mins. outside the toilet...he he.....and believe me this is only the tip of the iceberg.

people say many things.. does that make it a fact? i beg to differ. off course it is easy to hide behind the walls that the group of undefined people have created and to cast your retort, yes lol from there.

really..... they say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit......

and this is a retort...... lol......

just for you pakestaak

"retort" - (verb) To reply, especially to answer in a quick, caustic, or witty manner. it is not, as you mistakenly thought, a noun directed at you. Dont worry though, we all make mistakes.

There you go "man". Dont say i never do anything for you.

Please note that i have removed the word "respect" and replaced it with the word "sarcasm", which, incidentally, is a noun. i hope that meets with your approval.

Arzu,

I am sure that you will enjoy life in Qatar and working for Qatar Airways. You may find life more restrictive than in Turkey, particularly at such times as Ramadhan. I have relocated permanently to Turkey and could not believe the difference.

You will also find it very expensive in comparison to Turkey but am sure you will enjoy it.

Arzu, thank you very much for your reply. I would like to take the opportunity to - for the second time - tell you that i should not have put my remarks in the way i did, although i still do feel that people on this forum should also have some backbone to withstand critism.

GIASI, I do not need a dictionary. It was quite clear what you meant. Once again, try not to be the arrogant keeper here of wisdom and your hollow word of RESPECT. If you still do not get it, look up the word and try to let the meaning of the word RESPECT sink in into your brain. On the QA cabin crew: Whatever you think man. I just think that one working for an airline as internationally oriented as QA should possess a decent level of English. You are inclined to think that the majority does not speak English. Well, i see your point now. So it is better to have the poorly speaking passengers to be flown around with cabin crew who also do not possess a decent level of English. Yes, that is way way better. Nice communication....

Pakestaak. first of all...your comment was in no way meant as positive feedback... it was clearly a very sarcastic put down.

Just for your information, airlines often employ cabin crew with particular language skills. you may notice that QA fly to many destinations and i would be inclined to believe that the majority of its passengers do not speak english. Also, its not fair to judge someones conversational english (the skill in question) by looking at their writing.

Since when has "retort" been an insult? i think you are a little confused here. have you heard the saying "people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones" ?.. i suggest YOU get a dictionary and look the word up.

Respect

You have to make the most of it and be quite open to try different things and meet new people.

It is a great place, the night life is slowly getting better and there are now international djs starting to play here which is a good sign.

we have a tendency to give positive and cozy feedback??? Lol, don't think so.

But I agree, Arzu, you will find your new job quite hard if you cannot communicate with the passangers, a dictionary will help.

(but don't worry too much, my english isn't so good yet I get by...)

Arzu/GIASI, my comment has unwantedly been perceived as a nasty one.

The thing is that i am very surprised by the fact that QA, an airline that is considered upper standard in the industry, is taking on cabin crew with below - in my view, anyone please correct me if you feel otherwise - standard English language abilities. I do understand that most people on this forum have a tendency to give positive and cozy feedback and merely that, and are hesitant to do anything else. Unfortunately for the faint hearted i felt I had to step up to the plate.

Put otherwise Arzu, i would advise you to work on your English language abilities for your own peace of mind and for the benefit of your passengers while performing your job.

For GIASI: I understand your reaction, but I think you jumped the gun here. Respect is not some word you yourself have invented and for which you should consider yourself the one and only keeper. I would like to bring to your attention that one should be aware that other peoples' expressions might come from another angle than you had initially thought. Finally, I would like to mention that calling me a retort is not what i consider respectful.

geez paki, now the lady is gonna think we are all full of witty intelligent retorts like yourself.

Arzu... I think the social life amongst the Qatar Airways cabin crew is quite good (if youre part of it)... shopping is quite good and there is nothing you should worry about bringing with you.

I wouldnt worry... qatar is not that bad and im sure the other girls you will be working with will be full of advice and more than willing to help

Respect
