I would love to have a home on the mountains, a steady home-based internet business, a beautiful wife who cooks good, bright kids who go to school, a black labrador who fetches my slippers and a backyard with a small garden where I grow the best home-grown buds from various parts of the world...now thats my slice of heaven! ;)

Consumption is legal in Spain too.

If they catch you with below certain quantity it is considered self consumption and therefore they leave you go.

You cannot grow, you cannot harverst, you cannot buy... but you can smoke (Yes, we are soooooooo logical).

For those who dont smoke, you can make tea, or cakes xD

Ha ha ha

hypocrite Americans,

Now that Cali is broke, legalize it so that we can finally tax it!

Great move Mr. Terminator!

By the way, nothing is dumber than legalizing weapons but be difficult about pot. The other way around would be much more peaceful and the Mexicans would benefit DOUBLE from this.

@ qatari-princess,don't you think you should not & can not judge something you've never experienced?...some facts for your perusal...marijuana has NEVER killed anybody...EVER...you can't overdose on it & you can't smoke so much of it that it kills you...NICOTINE on the other hand kills thousands...EVERYDAY as does ALCOHOL...& you do realize that both nicotine & alcohol are drugs?...they're just legal, socially acceptable ones...from your replies, you clearly don't have a clue about it,except for what you've seen in some lame, yank stoner movies...so please..."disasters","crime"???...c'mon,your ignorance is killing me!!...

I think they should legalize it! Being from the Netherlands myself, I have never seen agressive situations when people are using pot, only when using alcohol. It is even legal to grow some yourself for "home use"!

All people that are against it obviously never used it, so in my opinion, cannot judge people who do enjoy it.

Live and let live!!

Ever heard the following quote from Bob Marley:

Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction!

By hesa24804• 19 May 2009 15:03
hesa24804

I think legalising it will be a good idea, look at amsterdam for example, there are no big "disasters" there.

QP - it wouldnt be a case of giving it to anyone - have an age limit on it. For example, in the UK, only those over 18 can buy booze and ciggies, and have to give ID to prove it.

deseases..of course they can use pot if it'll heal/cure them!!

but not to ordinary people!!

What's the fun in not knowing what's going on??

By Gypsy• 19 May 2009 12:52
Gypsy

LOL. Obviously you don't know the effects of Pot. :P I think World Peace would be a given if everyone smoked pot.

And yes, the fact that it's less harmful, less addictive, etc than alcohol, as well as the fact that it's extremely helpful for people undergoing chemotherapy and other disease DOES make it worth legalizing.

By qatari-princess• 19 May 2009 12:45
qatari-princess

So Gypsy, does the fact the pot is less addictive and less than alcohol, justifies it?

Wine and beer sure keeps you light-neaded wo why on earth would you want to legalize pot?

trust me..

this WOLRD PEACE people r talking about especially in the US isn't really gonna happen if a sector of the country is about to legalize pot, or even considering it!!

By Gypsy• 19 May 2009 12:35
Gypsy

Yes it is true QP. What disasters would there be? Pot is non addictive, it's high is less than that of alcohol, It's carcinogins are less then that of cigarettes.

What would be discovered with the assisstance of having pot legal?

By qatari-princess• 19 May 2009 12:32
qatari-princess

That is not true Gypsy, what you are saying is allowing a little of damage to decrease the larger disasters resulting from drugs...

but do u HONESTLY believe that legalizing pot is good idea?

think again...

its more like giving little kids a couple of pistols..

no maybe not...

Gypsy if pot was legal, drugs won't be police's fear but what is to be discovered with the ASSISTANCE of having pot legal!!!

By qatari-princess• 19 May 2009 12:27
qatari-princess

NEVER DID NOR EVER WILL!!

EHM..

By Gypsy• 19 May 2009 12:22

Drug related crime rates, etc. Aren't related to pot use QP. In fact pot being illegal takes away police from going after the harder more dangerous drugs that are actually hurting people.

pot?

Well I'm wondering...If they legalize it and sell it like alcohol & tabbacco could they sell of liscenses to private companies to grow...And would you be able to grow it yourself?

By MikaylasMom• 19 May 2009 10:27
MikaylasMom

Gypsy, maybe the gov't should hire some potheads to grow the gov't stash. Heck, the gov't would make more money if the stuff was better, more people would buy it!

By Gypsy• 19 May 2009 10:24
Gypsy

My only worry is that the same thing will happen that happened when the Canadian government started growing it's own and selling it for medicinal use, the stuff was so weak and so full of seeds and stuff it was useless.

By MikaylasMom• 19 May 2009 10:20
MikaylasMom

I think everywhere should legalize it, the potency would be controlled, no more "bad stuff", and they could get loads of cash to help in state/country budgets. Lord knows I could use a joint every now and then living here...

California is getting desperate to balance their budget. I just voted "no" on the ridiculous slate of measures proposed. As usual, trying to take from Education to put a band-aid on their bleeding mess.

Now they want to get in on the biggest cash crop in the state. Marijuana rakes in twice as much as the vegetable crops. If they could tax that, they could finally get in the black for a change.

It's decriminalized in Canada, which means if you're caught with under 6 grams you are charged $175 (if the cops really pissed at you for something, usually they just let it go). Over 6 grams is possession with intent to sell, so that's criminal.

As for it catching on in Canada Brit :) http://mostlywater.org/canada_leads_world_in_marijuana_use

"Well, we can officially call ourselves Toker Nation now. According to the 2007 World Drug Report by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Canada has the dubious honour of leading the industrialized world in marijuana use, at least when calculated as a percentage of population.

According to the UN report, which is a staple of police forces around the world, 16.8 per cent of Canadians between the ages of 15 and 64 smoked pot or ingested one of its derivatives last year."
