I am one of the Rydges staff

There was a recent post or topic a while ago and i wanted to add more of it so that i can get more advice.

I could say that post about staff of Rydges hotel are crying definitely true coz even me as being hired locally here in Doha, im one on the list of staff have flight bookings from the travel agency even if i dont want to go home.

Seriously, this issue is very sensitive case considering that the company is not a small one. I myself want to fight for my right because i took loans from my own country just to come here in Qatar at my own expenses and till now i'm still paying for it. It's so unethical or not fair if they will just send me home without even consulting my side. They should give me release coz they didn't spend money for travel cost of coming here. I was surprised to see my name on the list of flight bookings and sad to know that i will be flying end of this month going back home.

Therefore, i am calling the attention of those who are in Law profession, a kind hearted lawyer who can guide us or if not protect our rights from these rude management. I am thinking to go to the human rights but then i am not sure if 100% they will surely be with me considering that the owner belongs to big name in government.

Anybody could help? I am exhausted mentally and emotionally.

that there is probably a lot more to this than we are being told. First off I would think that your company is obligated to provide you with a ticket home if they are your sponsor because it is required in the law. If they didn't then you would probably complain that they did not. If they are not your sponsor then how did you get here and why are you working for them? As far as the NOC goes this is used so that the employers can cull the work force for whatever reasons good or bad.

I understand your concerns and your emotions are running high but these things happen all the time and they are a part of life. I have been hearing about Rydges closing for a long time now so it should not have been a surprise to anyone.

I am trying to picture the the consultation you want but I don't see it.

Company: "Hello Mr.Expat, we no longer have a job for you but if you would like us to keep paying you for doing nothing please ask".

"We will put you up in accommodations and feed you and provide a vehicle for you until you find another job."

You must think you are in America.

Idprotected, I saw both your threads and am stunned that staff are being treated so badly. I think that your case would arouse much interest in the Australian newspapers...just an idea ;-)

if you were hired locally, the company cannot send you home. go to human rights. if you're sure the company doesnt have anything incriminating about you on records, you have a beter chance of getting the release or noc. have you gone to your country's labor office? do consult with them so you will know the correct steps to make.
