There must be a lot said abt. HYPNOTISM.But does it really works. If it works then

it could be a great thing to make people confess things. It should be used by

the Police departments to make confessions or atleast to get the clues

from the Criminals.Whats exactly is it about. And anyone knows it over here

I would luv to learn it.

Your remarks please

dweller..

According to the boy the man, called him so as to make him look up (or into his eyes) and  just circled a handkerchief around his head, I guess once. So that should mean a maximum of 1 to 5 seconds.

I could dispatch the boy home with a police only because he could remeber a bank and a school near his house (in Kalyan). Boys that young usually do not remember their area name, address or even phone no. (This was before the mobile phone mania caught on.)

I cannot explain the instance that you quoted but suspect that in some way the kidnappers coerced the boy into being hypnotised..

I think it's fairly well known and eccepted (even by hypnotists) that it's impossible to hypnotise anyone against their will.

Hypnosis..

I too did not believe in Hypnotism until I met a 7-8 yr old boy who was hypnotised & kidnapped in daylight while playing cricket near his house.  He came out of the trance within 30min (50Kms away)while travelling with the kidnapper (sadhu baba) on the Local Train in mumbai. When he jumped out of the train he ran into me.

That You need the person to give you permission to hypnotise is proved false by the above fact.

The above also proves that the hypnotist need not require a "Test" of susuptability as if the kidnapper failed to hypnotise then he would be beaten up by people as the boy would shou/cry/tell others.

Maybe they read the person's personality & character...maybe...

Gypsy Girl....Magicians combines many things....commonly "Visual effects", Mechanical aids, "Tools of Magic" ....and rarely even hypnotism  which can make you believe that some thing unbeliavable is happening.

Maybe he hypnotised you ...but floating in the air was done surely by Rope or some mechanical aid.

Tools of magic are things like:

-wand that show different colours at different times.

- The Hat from which pigeon comes has a compartment containing the pigeon.

- The rope which straightens & becomes flaccid has a straightner that is pulled..etc

hypnosis can be really effective but only if you want it to, i went for stopping smoking and the first thing the hypnotist said to me that if you really dont want to stop smoking dont bother , it will work only if you are willing, i had three sessions and i managed to stop smoking cigarettes....

I was hypnotized by  a magician, all I can remember is he called someone from the audience and I went to the stage. He was showing something in front of my eye and asked to concentrate... I didn’t close my eyes, he asked me to close my eyes and then………. its blank I don’t remember anything I was told by the audience that he made me sleep in the air. And he finally asked me to wake up and told my mom it was difficult to hypnotize me because I got good will power

Just about every hypnotist will do a "test" for susuptability to hypnosis. Which usually consists of having the client lete their mind drift and he'll make a suggestion, such as your hand is as light as a feather..then continue to talk to you about other things...you open your eyes and your hand is up in the air..you have no idea how it got there...then you are a good subject..some folks, for whatever reason, this won't work on them.

Its actually a fun thing..I was going to a hypnotist for stress relief...works great...

that wouldn't worry me anyway as I have nothing to hide.

I have seen it used to take people back to previous lives.

One woman under hypnosis was speaking fluent french in an old dialect (she didn't speak french in real life)

Another one claimed under hypnosis that she was looking after "royalist" children hiding from the roundheads in York. She described a hiding place in a church in York. The hiding place was never discovered ....until the church was demolished. Then they found it.

The same woman claimed to have been a powder monkey on one of Nelson's ships and was speaking in the language of the time.

I'm sure there is something in hypnotism but I believe you have to be willing for it to work.

I was told that you can't make anyone do anything through hypnotism that they don't want to do, or wouldn't do in real life.  So you could never make a person kill someone, or confess to something that they didn't want to.

Check wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnosis, says you can't hypnotize someone who doesn't want to be hypnotized.

that would still make it illegal and they couldn't use it to arrest anyone...least not back in the States..not sure about here.

If it works and If U are able to make people do silly things which they won't do when they are awake so,they might also confess to things they did

and trying to hide.Sure Confessions by Criminals cannot be used as coercion but it could work as clues to get to the Culprit.

And dweller the hypnotism what U went under and wa asked to do some sily things. But What about knowings things which U might never Tell. Its only in ur heart.Maybe if the spouse wants to use it to get confession frm the other abt. any affair or so.Will it Work.

I was one of a group of people dragged on stage at Messaieed golf club some years ago.

I remember thinking that I had been on stage only for about 20 minutes and that other people had been doing stupid things. Apparently we were on stage for about one and a half hours.

As I left the stage, I remember the hypnotist saying that I had "got off lightly".

When he said goodnight, myself and one other person stood up and shouted "The drinks are on me". That isn't something that I would ordinarily do....believe me!

yes, it does work, but only if the subject is sensitive to hypnosis enough to go "under". some people aren't. Also, there is nothing you can get someone to do that they wouldn't want to do if wide awake. You can make them act silly and do really odd things but the reason behind that is you allow that part of the brain that keeps us socially ept, to relax. Confessions, even if they used it in criminal cases, wouldn't be allowed as it would be coercion...
