Hyatt Plaza's Circus

Took son to the circus at Hyatt Plaza car park. Not brilliant (my russian friend said it wasnt as good as the one in Moskow), but is not bad either. Entertaining for the kid. My son enjoyed it.

Ticket are QR 100 for VIP (the first 2 row in the front), QR 75 and QR 50.

The performers came from Russia, Ukraine, Tajikiztan (spelling?). The have the magician show from Egypt, the same guy who performed on the previous circus.

And there is no animal performing in the show, unlike the previous circus.

Damn Qataris and their bear snatching.

You know what .......

My small advice: no need to spend 100 QAR for this circus instead you can buy 50 QAR ticket and change the seat later on 'cause anyway seats are not fully all the time.

and now poor Balou is suffering the consequences...

That sucks that they are holding the bear here, i'd hate to see it live out ist's life in this country... :( People here that i've come across don't have much respect for animals, my mother ecently saved a hamster from being killed by some Qatari students, they were throwing it round the room, i'd like to throw them round the room.

Did they agree to send the bear off to Pakistan, and then go back on their word after they realised they could make a quick buck form it? That's horrible.

Poor Balou...

We rescued Balou from the car park but we did NOT want him to live at the Zoo!! It was supposed to be a temporary arrangement until we could send him to the sanctuary in Pakistan.

Unfortunately though the Zoo will not release Balou to the reserve as they want him as an exhibit. We still have a place in Pakistan waiting to take him although they can't hold the space forever!

We're all working really hard to get the Zoo to realise that the sanctuary in Pakistan is much better for Balou and they should be thinking of him rather then themselves.

Yea i would think the heat outside would have been horrible for the bear... I'm guessing Qatar doesn't have some sort of animal welfare serviec or what not.

If I remember correctly the bear was supposed to have been shipped to a special reserve in Pakistan, but perhaps that fell through so it's still at the zoo, which I don't think has the necessary facilities for it.

Davidak - The bear was left in a cage in the car park, which attracted a lot of kids from the area who got great enjoyment from teasing it. The ladies from QAWS were taking it food every day and eventually persuaded the zoo to take it in.

Yes tallg ... i was horrified watching the previous circus. The lady dragging the bear around the stages , smiling trying to make the bear doing the tricks. I can see the bear very very agitated and not enjoying it at all.

And then they abandoned the poor bear in Hyatt Plaza car park ...

The-birdie, I dont think it is fair if i posted all the videos on here. There will be no one left going to the circus, everyone will stare at QL instead. I might post the lady with with the clothes trick after the circus packing up their show :)

It will be really enjoyed by other QLers, who could not make it to watch

Glad that there were no animals this time around, especially with Balou the Bear saga last year.

Agree with Dora that it was not worth QR100. unless you want to take a lot of photos or a video sitting in the front..lol

I thought it was quite good! My 3 year old was terrifed of the clowns and was making excuses to get out after the tears...I took her to the loo about 5 times! Worth a look, though not worth QR100 at the weekend though! that lady changing her clothes mesmerised me! (You have to have seen it to know whta I'm talking about!) Ladies changing clothes isn't normally what I would enjoy btw lol

Mjamille, if i can choose i rather spend my QR 100 going to see the recitals at American School. But then 2 days before I took my son to watch his piano teacher did concert at ASD and he fast asleep. I guess my son rather watch the circus than music recital.

There are cheaper seat though ... QR 75 and QR 50. Go and ask UKEng, I saw him and the family on the day I went to the circus :)

UKEng ... the Qatar Happening did not said the show is not brilliant though lol.

Seriously, it was OK. Is not cirques de le soil but entertaining enough for son. I wasnt keen to go in the beginning after we been to the previous one with bear and snake (horrible...). I did asked before I bought the tickets, the lady in the ticket counter convince me there wont any bear and snake.
