How much would you pay to use QL?

Qatar beckoned. A land unknown. Almost an alien culture even for many Muslims. No friends no relatives no comrade in arms. There was an excitement of working in a new land, a land of plenty, offering so much. Dreams of a better life , dreams of building a future. But for many it was also an escape.

Weeks slip by and the dreams face stark realities. The money may be good but the soul is parched. A yearning for some laughter, fun and friendship (and Frieeeendshipp too). To share victories and to get support in difficulties. To have a more meaningful life rather than being a robot that works and gets paid. There must more to life than this??

Chance upon QL and within days new friends, people to share thoughts, desires and the laughter is back. The sunshine is back in life. It grows to be an obsession. QL offers everything that was longed for. Even before one can say good morning to boss it is Howdy at QL. Every moment that can be spared is for QL.

So when one is getting so much from QL what would you pay to use this??

All this upgrading is causing huge howls of protest. It may be meant for every one to realize how much QL means in everyone's day to day life. It may be a precursor to becoming a paid site.

Thoughts anyone??

For me, there's no rivalry when it comes to websites. We are just giving options to the readers. Readers can use their tabs to view both sites at the same time. It's not like television where you can view one tv shows only in one time. If you will change channel, you will loose the story. Website can be switches through tabs and the idea of the site will not be lost.

Infact, there is the thing called "blogosphere" where bloggers with the same theme are helping and linking each other.

My promotional strategies don't involve using a rival forum, I am just too proud for that so thanks but no thanks.

well, I dont have the statistics tracker of iloveqatar.net because I'm not the owner of that site. So, I can not say that if its working or not. But only one thing I am sure of, people always have other choice to enjoy their virtual life here in Qatar.

Do you have your own site whyteknight? So I can mention it also in my comment if I like it. I can even help you with the SEO (search engine optimization) for your site.

I would pay QL 1 Million QR/Annum,Benefits and Annual Bonus. Renewable based on mutual agreement at the end of one year.

woow... he posted it three times???!!!

Well, if QL became a paid site, theres an another option. Iloveqatar.net is still there for us to use. Someone here can even make a new site for us. All we have to do is to invite our friends and friends of our friends and make noise about it to make the site active like QL.

Hey Psycho. It is not going to be a pay site. This site was down for almost a week and there was chaos. We have qlers who are addicted to Qling every day and were lost without it. It was just re-enforcing the importance of this site in everyday life in Qatar.

What I wrote on this thread were just thoughts of mine then whether anyone would be desperate enough to pay for using this.

By anonymous• 19 Apr 2010 20:23

is this gonna be a paid site soon? I cannot pay anything as per now. :) sorry.

It is because people now know how a website is working and earnings. Visitors will not let the owner of the site to abuse their popularity.

this is the 1st time in all my 3+ years on QL that it's been screwed up for so long... it used to be a day or two earlier... dunno what's going on behind the scenes???

It's good that the owner of this site now already knows where he will stand. We may also block his adsense if he will ask for payment LOL

Looking at the way QL is doing these days, I wouldn't pay even a penny. Firstly QL maintenance thing happened and now that it is working, people are so busy preaching or bashing certain religion and country. I am so bored now.:-(

really, is that the case with QL ;)

What an Idea Sirjee......Wow

Free Newspaper, Free Downloads (virus free), Free classified, Free Entertainment (movies/songs) and Free social networking websites!

By deepb• 15 Apr 2010 15:03

No, I don't want QL to start paying us for visiting or posting here. QL deserves their ad revenue money for taking the initiative for coming up with this idea, and maintaining it.

I just don't see the point of making it a pay for use site - why would anyone mess with the system when it is working already? The recent instability is probably a result of migration from one type of forum to another, or migration from one webhost to another. It's very understandable as the technologies behind it could be conflicting, and I don't think the people running it are working 24 hours on this site alone.

By mr google• 15 Apr 2010 14:54

You are right deepb and whyteknight. QL should pay his visitor for keeping this site alive. We can make our own site if QL will start to ask payment from his members.
