How to Find My Stolen Quad Bikes?
Last Thursday is really a disappointing morning along my reside in Qatar. 2 of my quadbikes were stolen in early morning from INSIDE the backyard of the villa where I live in. You can see the detail of this incident in Gulf Times Thursday (Jan 8th, 09) edition:

I shocked when I saw the backyard gate was open, then I didn't see both of my quadbikes around. I still cannot believe that it happened in the safe country like Qatar, as I saw in the neighborhood a lot of quads were just placed outside home, some other left above the trailer on the pavement outside house wall. Some, they put jetskis outside home for weeks. But NONE OF THEM were lost. While mine were lost from INSIDE home??? Is it because all of those were belong to Qataris & mine is belong to non-Qataris ???
Realizing this incident, I directly grab my digicam and shoot whatever I can from the scene, then I went directly to Rayyan police station. A group of police officers soon visiting my home. On the evening of the same day, I visited Gulf Times, as advised by one of my Qatari colleague, in order to post this incident there. It is a good idea, as it can warn others from buying these stolen bikes.
On the time being, I don't know what else I can do in order to find my bikes back. This situation was really change my opinion about Qatar as a safe country. Now, if I heard the sound of motorcycle, I feel suspcious and ask myself: "is that my bike?", this really afecting me phsycologically.
I really apreciate if QLers can help to give idea on the way to find my bikes. The picts of the bikes also posted here, just in case any of you see the similar one, will you please contact me on 572-5317.

I went to police station main branch they wouldn't register my complaint , Can any one advice !!

just to try my luck if I can find my bikes there. But no result.
Somebody overthere told me to go main police office near crazy traffic light, while I filed a report on the nearest police station. Should I follow this advise?

without the support of the resident of that area no one will dare to steal anything if he is not aware of the area very well.
Since these bikes have no registration number, it would be very difficult to find the bikes ... only way to identity your bikes are with Engine numbers which again is another difficult job.

If you have pictures post them in classifieds - some of us can print them out and keep an eye out for you...

2) 700,000 single guys from dirt poor homes
3) bars on windows and doors in villas
4) concrete fences and secure compounds
5) security guards EVERYWHERE!

newspaper was posted and spread it thru email, some of similar stories were heard. A colleague in my office experience the same this son Yamaha Blaster about 3 years ago. It was stolen from inside home on the daytime, and finally he found it on the neighbour home not to far from his home. Another colleague told me that 2 (or 3, Im not sure the exact number) of his quads were dragged out from his villa by a group of kids wtih approximately 11-13 yo, they almost ran these bikes away if his wife didnt see them and chase them to outside home.
IF I see both stories, all were done by the neighborhood local kids. Im not sure if mine were also done by kids on neighborhood ??? and the one saw by my wife on the backyard seems (from the size) like a kid with a local dress (sorry, no any offense meant to any local), and more incredibly those thiefs were so brave to enter other's home by force-open the door and took a big thing like these quads. Incredible and so unpleasant for me :-(
never expected that to happen in doha! i am usually very relaxed.
Go to your Bike Stores and ask if anyone seen your bikes or buying some parts for it to change the appearance or something. Check garage shops also.
someone will return the top one when they find a leg attached to it...no worries there!
the numbers of them, but the point is how to find them? I cannot check every bike in Doha, neither sneaking the door of neighbours.
Really, it is an awful time & feeling for me :-(

to get them back, the police would need to check serial numbers, or someone would need to confess on their friends
sorry. It's awful when stuff gets nicked, but it looks unlikely that you'll get them back.
maybe you'll be lucky and the thieves will have dumped them somewhere after a quick joyride, but after a week it doesn't seem very likely.
