Housing

Hi,
I've been looking around for accommodation and noticed that many 'agents' charge, as their commission, a half of the months rent.

Is this standard practice or is it set by some housing ministry? Would it be rude to ask them to take less?

Just getting an idea of your expereinces also...

Thank you.

they take the commission, and they also make at least 40% from the actual rent that you pay.

You can find yourself accomodation in one day (sheer luck); or may be it'd take over a month.

agents/ well, they work hard .. they do this worldwide and ofcourse they will take their commission. If you hire an agent who show you your desired aptt in your budget or area of choice, you should acknowledge he did hardwork and he saved your time, energy and efforts.

so, you can always avoid them if you have plenty of time and no rush;

but as their commission

15 day rent is normal, i think so.

however if rents are high above the sky

normally the landlord cover agents expenses.

Try to find on your own. Look in Classified Ads.

Tell them your pay nothing. They are just trying to double dip. They will also tell you that the landlord pays nothing. They are lying

The 'agents' are doing the landlord's job, let him pay the commission.
