Visitors to Stuttgart's Meilenwerk — a German international hub for car dealers — can canoodle under the stars at the drive-in, tune their engines in the workshop or even enjoy a night's rest at the car wash.

Built inside the city's old Boblingen Airport the hotel also has a suite built on three levels within the building's former control tower.

For around £312 a night visitors can stay in the 120sq/m Zeppelin Suite featuring a sauna, terrace and landscape views over the former airport grounds.

Hotel employee Heike Petzold said: "Everybody wants to stay here when they come to the Meilenwerk.

"It's really amazing because even people who live in the area come here to stay for a night in the themed rooms.

Think you missed my point a little. It was a tongue in cheek referral. We don't hate the Germans (well I don't), but it's a long standing British tradition to make fun of them and the French.

Every nation has someone they make fun of.

Alan, I see. I was not aware that something that happened a long time ago still has people feeling bad.

LOL, just seen this post. Now that would be cool. Same thing in England would be odd though. A B&B by the A1 with an Austin Metro for a bed doesn't have the same ring to it :)

As above, a minor argument in 1914 and 1939 means we don't care much for Zee Germans.

It'd be cheaper to do it in the back of your own car ;-)
