Onefat, sorry to say but thats a load of horse crap. No sense of honor? The honor-less women you are talking about are desperate people, which you find everywhere. Do you think that there are only western prostitues, sex slaves and mistresses, but oh wait, I forgot, it was on TV so it must be true.

"They, in general, are exploited and belittled to sell products and services. Women are no more than objects in capitalism; ready to be used and abused; as prostitutes; sex slaves; and mistresses and no more than meat to be consumed and used."

That's an interesting view. I wonder what Angela Merkel or Condolezza Rice would do with you if they'd get hold of you. Do you like the "prostitute" Angelina Jolie??

There is a concept in Islam called killing for honour but seldom is the rule applied correctly due to the misunderstanding the muslims have of the concept in general...

The west exploit this misapplication of the concept to tarnish Islam and the muslims as they have tarnished the concept of Jihad, the role of the woman; marriage in Islam and the like for the better part of 1000 years.

One only needs to read a western newspaper or watch western TV to conlude that the women in the west have no concept of honour. They, in general, are exploited and belittled to sell products and services. Women are no more than objects in capitalism; ready to be used and abused; as prostitutes; sex slaves; and mistresses and no more than meat to be consumed and used.

Thus the irony in the wests stance when it comes to honour and the need to protect muslims societies from the ills that have befallen the west...where the concept of family no longer exists; the number of 'bastard\ children has reached record proportions and with it the number of single women uable to make ends meet whilst the fatherless children struggle when the wholesome and required inputs from fathers is absent. Are the people then surprised at the number of mental disorders in the west?

As a result of recently increased sentences for such killings, there was now a trend for families to force women to commit suicide instead of murdering them, he said.

He urged the authorities to take a closer look at cases of apparent suicide involving young women.

In “tradition killings”, more prevalent among Turkey’s Kurdish community, a so-called family council meets and names a clan member to murder a female relative considered to have sullied the family honour, usually by engaging in an extra-marital affair.

Now that sounds fair to us men. I think I know where I'm gonna live now. LOL

Give the whole story please.

The case you mention was to do with the pensioner killing his wife, six days after being released from a clinic where he was treated for depression.

Honour killings have nothing to do with any religion. They are barbaric practices based on culture and misguided ideals.

So it's better to murder your daughter before the others call you an extremist?

i remember reading loads of stories in the uk of where a man kills his gf or wife because she has cheated on him, the only difference is they don't call it an honour killing.

a good example from a few weeks ago in the uk is of an old man in his 60's who killed his wife of decades after she admitted in an argument she hadnt been a virgin when they married, if the couple had been muslim they would have called it 'muslim pensioner murders wife for honour' or some crap like that.

but that doesn't justify the act itself, it is just some muslims get sick of the double standards of the media.

islam strictly condemns such behaviour, the problem is that if any muslim started trying to take action against it they would be locked up and called extremist and terrorist and such like.

Is it against the Human Rights? Yes.

Is it against religion? Yes. So, what is it? Stupid medieval tradition.

Terrible and stupid habit. Nothing can be done against it, you can't change people. :( But it's especially said that women has to die becaouse of talking to someone or requesting a song. There is nothing bad in that.

From the other hand, male rapers deserve this kind of punishment. Women being raped not. (Or having sexual relationship, but that's their tradition. I can't accept it, but I do understand.)

It's true that had working hadn't killed anyone yet, but why to take risk?
