HMC launching air ambulance service
THE much-awaited air ambulance service is to be introduced by the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) by next month, a report published in the local Arabic daily Arrayah said yesterday.
“Test landings have been done several times during the past months to ensure that the specially-designed helipad on the top floor of Hamad General Hospital’s car parking building is ready to receive the helicopters,” a source was quoted as saying to the daily.
The daily quoted the head of the emergency service at the HMC, Penny Price, as saying that the corporation was going to buy several helicopters to be used as air ambulances.
