Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

By Scarlett

I would like to wish all my fellow QLers a very happy Thanksgiving!!! (ok so its an American tradition but still its a good one!!) Please stop for a moment and give thanks and a thought, to all that you have in your life. You'll find that even on a dark day that there are a multitude of things to be grateful for...friends, life, family....

So before you sit down to that turkey dinner...remember just what it is that you are most thankful for and SMILE!!!

but that's what the 4th of July is for...Independence day!! We just keep it quiet that Thanksgiving is that also...

Thanks for all the well wishes QLers....Had a HUGE party at hubby's work yesterday..over 300 people showed up. It was so nice to share our traditions with those that have never experienced it and also to allow them to taste foods that otherwise they'd never get to taste. Only the turkey and potatoes were catered..everything else was brought by the employees...such a great time for sharing!!

Da..i DO remember that night...you walked right by me in Orions and THEN called me on the phone! lol

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

From what I've read, Thanksgiving Day means "Thank God the British are out of the goddamn American soil for good!"

Thank you, darlin'! I've got three pies in the oven and a 10 kilo bird in the sink. I'm just so thankful I found sweet potatoes and pie pans in FFC yesterday!

Thanksgiving Day, is a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. It is primarily a North American holiday which has generally become a national secular holiday with religious origins. Thanksgiving Day, celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, at the end of the harvest season. The American traditions of Thanksgiving revolve around a huge and lavish meal, usually with Turkey as the centerpiece. For those who do not like Turkey, a Roast or Prime Rib is common. As tradition has it in most families, a special prayer of thanks precedes the meal. In many homes, family members will each mention something they are very thankful for.

Scarlett, Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Unfortunately I never celebrated Thanksgiving, but would be nice once in the real american environment. And to go to the Macy's Parade as well! Have you been there?

It's true that had working hadn't killed anyone yet, but why to take risk?

and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Made 2 pumpkin pies and a Dutch Apple Cake yesterday, chopped and prepped all the veggies, cubed 2 lbs of bread for the stuffing.

Once I pry myself away from the internet, I'll go wrestle with that 21-lb bird.

But it's just not the same since it's not a school/work holiday. I'll be cooking by myself, instead of having the kids helping and hubby getting in the way :-(

Does anyone want to volunteer to come get in the way while I cook? :-D

Count your blessings today everyone.
