It is Onam today and Wish you all a happy and prosperous one!
Onam is a harvest festival celebrated by the people of Kerala, India. Onam is an ancient festival which still survives in modern times. Kerala's rice harvest festival and the Festival of Rain Flowers, which fall on the Malayalam month of 'Chingam', celebrates the Asura King Mahabali's annual visit from Patala (the underworld). Onam is unique since Mahabali has been revered by the people of Kerala since prehistory.The King is so much attached to his kingdom that it is believed that he comes annually from the nether world to see his people living happily.

I enjoyed this meal but on table some 50+ dishes served and could not consume all.
The payasam made the traditional way was too good and never tasted it again in last 15+yrs . If made in the traditional way everyone will go mad for its heavy taste.

Do enjoy Sadya which is traditionally a vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf. People are seated cross-legged on the mat on the floor. All the dishes are served on the leaf and eaten with the right hand without using any cutlery.
