I am familiar with his Excellence, the Emir's generosity regarding natural disasters. I believe that the Emir will be equally generous with Haiti's earthquake disaster, but request that his blessings upon Haiti will come AFTER this inmediate problem that this poor country faces.
For now, the lack of inmediate response does not relate to a lack of willingness to help on behalf of the international community, but more of a problem of getting the supplies to the needy. The top countries involved in Haiti's inmediate emergency are working fevereshily to get to the nationals that are requiring assistance their due relief, but I know for a fact that Haiti will require extensive assistance in rebuilding a country that will provide a dignified existence for their citizens.
Through this message, I humbly ask that the State of Qatar become an adoptive state for Haiti to achieve long term success for their nationals, instead of an inmediate response country to resolve their inmediate needs.
If youre trying to suggest that Qatar be involved in the Reconstruction afterward I'm all for it. But to hold off aid, one for the other?? No thanks. Why not both.
And I too lived in Miami for years which is no way comparable to Haiti my friend, different planets altogether ;)

As a matter of biology; if it bites you it's probably female.
If you watch Skynews you will see that a Qatar Airways plane is already in Port au Prince.

Hi Oryx !
I mention in my message that the lack of inmediate response does NOT relate to the willingness of the countries involved. As per your message, there is a HUGE response.
But for instance, people being rescued from the debris are dying due to the lack of medical attention afterwards, which is very frustrating.
How much do I know about Haiti ?. I lived with Haitians in Miami for 4 years, in which I got to know their needs long before this tragedy, and participated in charity drives to try to put some relief on their previous related problems .....
a) lack of immediate response???? there has been a huge response but the logistics of getting planes in when the airport is actually just a runway is huge - cos not many can land and then how do you refuel them to get them out?
then how do you get the stuff from the airport to the people?
no one in charge - no telecommunications....
