jjj75, dont you think that if a man cant support his family in the first place hey WONT apply for a family visa? I mean if he has no intentions of letting his wife work after being on his sponsorship and cant afford to keep her with him then he wont bring her here. Its simple as that. May be some men also would like their wife to have a RP and not work but come and go every once in a while without having to go to prepare endless paperwork and spend trips to the immigration office every time waiting in line for hours.

I think the difference between the salary amounts is because they assume that the husband will work even if he is under his wife's sponsorship so they will have enough for the family to live off, the other way around it is very common for the wife under the husband's sponsorship not to work, therefore no double income and the possibility that they might not be able to financially support all family members hence the higher required figure

A while back there was talk about how we dont have enough families or women in the country...with this law more husbands are gonna come into the country perhaps, still it does not mention any like what if the husband is already employed in the country under another sponsor will he be able to change to his wife's sponsorship?

I seriously dont get it...women can sponsor husbands if their salary is 7000, but men cant? Whats the use of this sponsorship? Will the men be allowed to change jobs freely as the women used to do?
