Hi can anybody out there help me, i have a few stitches in my arm that need to be removed before i fly back to the UK. Can anyone recommend a good hospital/clinic that i could go too to have them removed. (i am not a resident yet) Many thanks
look at the variety of responses he s got for getting a couple of stitches removed.
from do it yourself handymen to private clinics...lol darude ur quite a multi talented man....
i do stitch removal at home but thats because because i know how to..
but i would not advise YOU you to do it for 1 simple reason...
some people use a matress stitch which if not held properly and cut gets bits of non absorbable suture retained inside. these can get infected or cause soft tissue irritation in the long term .simple stitches are not a problem.
so unless you know what exactly it is ,i would go to
any health center or clinic or private doctor/nurse and get it done.
my point is, for taking the stitches off, you can do it yourself, if you can reach.
just take either a good pair of scissors or that thing you use for your nails-surely clean it good first with some spirit. don't worry, it doesn't hurt. you won't even touch the skin, just the stitches. ;o)
and it's really no big deal!
if the thought bothers you, just go to any clinic near you. they will do it with no problem on the spot.
taking it off ain't the same as stitching it in the first place.
good luck dear :o)
