I had this experience with a group of young locals in villagio regarding parking space .I was waiting behind the car which is backing up to leave but when leaving car is gone suddenly this BMW car full of local teens park right away i told them that was my spot, still keeping my cool since i have my family with me infact my daughter is already afraid of what might happen because a guy from the group approaches me and telling me i dont have the right to argue, his face is just a punch away which i am thinking of doing but still i kept my cool because i know if i punch this guy he will sleep the whole night and i dont want my family suffer coz for sure i will be deported from qatar. But i almost done it i'm just dreaming that someday i can do it without any hesitations, I love giving this guys what they want which is A PIECE OF ME.

I know this might be a late reply, however, I've had my fair share of such horrific experiences.

As a girl, I was walking along the road at Ramada with my girl friend after dinner, in search of a Karwa cab, only to bump into a group of young local boys (max.14 years old) who started to tail us, make cat calls, and even shouting "can I f*** you?" then laughing aloud hysterically.

We were just lucky to find a Karwa cab within 3 minutes!

And many other horrific experiences as well that happened in the past.

Sadly, these mean local kids are just a herd of black sheep. I've met many nice and gentle Qataris (men and women) who have pleasant personalities as well. They are normally the well-educated ones.

lol just ignore them the time will come for judgement day

for those people who think they can step on other people.

like everyday i go home and in the office i always see

locals drive with their big car as if there are no other

cars beside them and they always overtake other cars also.

even in the signal light when your infront of them even you

know the signal is about to be red they will horn you

and sometimes even get mad at you for just being careful

not to get a violation with the red light which has

a payment of 6,000 qr

when this happened to me i just smile but deep inside i sympathize for them .they feel they are better than others yet they behave in this manner and the first thing that comes to mind is 'uncivilized' , how sad indeed. then again they probably were not taught fr the very beginning so to them it is acceptable....they want to progress fwd but they are still backward as if they are stuck in a time warp.

life's too short so make the most of it, you only live but once.......

Something like this happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I went to Souk Wagif. A Qatari of around 35 parked his car quickly in the spot I had been waiting for. Furious i got out and talked to the guy, expecting him to be courteous to an other muslim. But no. My Qatari women friends, some in my car and some came in another car watched while I was arguing with the guy.

After when we were seated in the restaurant we discussed the matter and one of my friends said I should have rubbed the lipstick from my mouth onto his clean thobe. That would have surely obliged him to go home and change.

This was obviously something I had not thought about, but keep it in my mind for the future ans recommend all of you other ladies to remember this too and apply it when it is your turn to be robbed of the parking space you have been waiting for.

like this, my first thought is, "and they call themselves muslims!"

Really, doesn't Islam teach charity, patience, compassion, how to be a good person and help your neighbor and be kind to others?

PATIENCE. These local kids like some old Qataris (not all) have this kind of mentality that sucks. Don't worry, our God is not sleeping. these kids will have their rightful dues and they will be sorry, just like the others.

Be cool, they have nothing to loose, but you. Such acts triggers our anger....but think for a moment and feel that you were not there.........thats it.

you may wish in your mind during that moment, someone in their group will do something stupid that you may have the reason to launch your fist!

well, they are stupid in the first place, but what I mean is for you to have eligible reason to do your thing.

grrr! it makes my blood boil!
