With all the construction going around town, old buildings being torn down, insects such as roaches are relocating to new places. No matter what insect replent you use, they will still come out and seek new shelter and food. Just make sure your place is kept clean, especially the kitchen! Tightly close and throw out garbage bags before your go to bed. Do not leave any dirty dishes in the sink over night, and also clean the sink and all counters too from any little food particles.
You may also want to keep those drainage holes in the floors sealed tight, they also tend to come out of there.
But if you must use a spray... get the kind with a straw like insert, and just spray those areas that are exposed such as the holes underneath your sink or cabinets or use some caulk to fill in those holes where roaches and other insects nestle.
