Fun at Wakra Beach

Satheesh_madh
By Satheesh_madh

I am sure, Wakra beach is all fun.

Kite flying, driving on the beach, playing in shallow water, etc.

some people drive their cars through shallow water!

But some of them get caught in the midst of water, when they do not pay attention to the rising level of water during high tide!

Watching all this, is the real fun!

See that in some of the pics, u can see a car getting caught in sand, and another car got stuck in the water! On that day, there was one person who was always willing to help those who were in trouble. Good guy. God Bless him.

Enjoy the weekend, and take care.

@ Sunray76 ,

You are right. The beach is on your right side.

Sorry for that.

By Rizks• 5 Apr 2012 13:57

Sunray, the beach should be on your 'Right' and not left after making a u-turn and take right go straight u will find a park on the left side and on the right side is this sea.

Satheesh,

I am confused. If you are traveling on airport road toward wakra, the beach should be on your left, at shell roundabout you take left ( now you are driving toward the beach)' after making a u-turn and take right, the beach should be on your right and not left.

Can someone post a google map on the location of this nice beach?

Many thanks,

Nice pics - Thanks for sharing. Why is it that women get stuck so many times every year?

@nomerci,

They did not actually put their car into the sea.

During low tide, water recedes from shore. And during high tide, water level rises and water moves into the beach, which transforms the earlier 'dry' beach into wet/part of the sea!

The white car, was parked on 'dry' ground early (see pic 4 from the bottom). Afterwards, they did not (surprisingly) realize that water was rising round them!

By the time they decided to return, it was too late!

Why are they putting their cars into the sea? That's a bit weird.....:/

Ooops forgot about that beach as well :P I've always gone to the one i gave directions to. I thought the one you mentioned was closed as they were doing some construction of a park or something there. Long time not been there.

Smoke,

This place is different from what you gave direction to.

@Nicenice,

From airport, proceed to the direction of Wakra (I believe, you know what we mean by this). At wakra, you will see the "Shell" roundabout. Turn left at this roundabout.

Proceed straight till the road ends, then take a U-turn.

Turn right at the first instance ( which is 50 m from the U turn).

Go straight and you will see the beach to your left side.

The guy with the silver colored LC in the pic helped out 3 cars on that evening.

In the last few pictures, see him pulling that Nissan Altima trough the water, and I believe, he took them up to a garage! (bec, the car got stuck in water and could not move when the driver started to race through the water).

hahaha Khanan that was gonna be my reply! You stole it :(

Nicenice when going from airport road towards wakra, you past the big shell round about, then the next small around about and then you will reach the round about before you proceed to umm said, take left from that round about and then on the right you will see a lane heading towards this beach.

The key to enjoy this beach is to Choose the right time to visit.

Choose a time when it is low tide. and then you will really enjoy it. It is VERY clean.

We normally choose a time, just before high tide. So when we reach there, the water is far away. (see picture 4 from bottom when the water was far). Then later on the water rises. (see picture 3 from bottom, where the same car in pic 4 is seen deep in water!!!) The car did not move, but the water level rose! The guy was not careful about that and got caught there!

Is the beach not clean on this picture? :)

and one very clear msg.

No all LC owners and locals are rude. From the pic its seen that a local is helping out Indian family (from pics)to get them out of the trouble. SO Don't GENERALIZE!!!

Kudos to the guy in LC!!
