Food stuff to enjoy during the rain
Don't you just love to munch on some delicacy during the rainy season or just to get you up and active when the weather gets damn cold?
We bring to you some recipes that you will relish and enjoy during this cold rainy season.
- Momos: Don't you just love the idea of hot steamed momos on any given day? And if it's raining outside, it gets even better for food lovers. Look for a great recipe with some good stuffing to serve your family and friends with some mouthwatering momos. If you’re not a big fan of steamed momos, then take a leap of faith and go for the crispy juicy fried momos instead. Nom Nom!

- Samosas / Sambousek: Oh, the sinful, toothsome, tempting samosas. How can anyone resist this snack? And if it's a rainy day, it is an icing on the cake indeed. Whether you make it at home or get it from the nearest vendor, samosas are the classic rainy day snacks. You won't be able to eat just one though. Make sure you eat it with your favourite chutney/dip. And for the Arabian lot, Samboosa or Sambousek is a snack that is similar to the Asian variety of samosa from the outside, but is usually filled with sweetness on the inside.

- Soup: Who said soup is just a winter thing? Or that it is something you should drink only if you’re down with flu? No way! Because when it's pouring outside and you want to sip something hot and spicy, offering nutrition and taste, look no further. Help yourself to a bowl of your favourite flavoured soup and enjoy the beauty of the rain. Add chopped veggies, minced meat, and a dab of cheese to your soup to make it ‘heavy’.
- Coffee/Qahwa: Coffee lovers don’t need an excuse to have coffee. But a rainy day somehow becomes an excuse to have more coffee. You can have the usual cappuccino or the latte, or you can spill some ‘Irishness’ to your coffee, or just find a nice little South Indian joint and sit down with a cup of filter coffee. You can also choose from the ‘Turkish’ style or ‘Saudi’ style of coffee, generally called ‘Qahwa’.

- Karak/Tea – This is one beverage that most people would never miss especially to keep themselves warm during the rain. Karak Chai is a blend of black tea, milk, sugar and cardamom and is prepared by boiling this combination together on a low flame. Also called as ‘Masala Chai’, this has gained likeness in the Arabian Peninsula of late but is famous in South India for its flavor.
- Hot, Fresh Baked Cakes: If you have a sweet-tooth like me and if sweets are just an excuse for you to fill up your stomach, try out some freshly baked cakes of your favourite flavour and munch on until your tummy says yummy!
- Fritters: Sweet or savory, fritters are the usual combination with a hot beverage like Coffee or Tea. Fry up a bunch of fritters with your desired filling or stuffing and enjoy while watching the rain drops.
