Fog - conversation today

A conversation with my driver this morning...

Me: Weather very strange this morning eh?

Driver: Yes, snow sir.

Me: We call it fog. Why is everybody driving with their hazard lights on?

Driver: So they can see.

Me: So people can see the orange lights:

Driver: Yes.

Me: So they can't see the red lights?

Driver: Some people don't have them switched on.

Me: How does anyone know when you are indicating to turn or change lane?

Driver: Aaaaahhhh....

Me: Or broken down or had an accident?

Driver: Aaaaahhhh....

Me: Do you know what that switch is for (pointing to fog light switch)

Driver: Yes sir. Snow lights.

Me: Fog lights and they're not switched on!

Driver: No sir, I'm using the orange ones instead....

I give up.

i find this very very funny. I know it's unusual weather but really... Snow lights LMAO.

The Hazzard light thing bugs me so much. How am I supposed to know if you are a hazzard or just using your 'orange' lights for the fog.... Hazzard lights are just those, Hazzard warning lights, you put them on you are a hazzard to be avoided, usually stopped. Put your lights on low beam and put your FOG lights on!

Honestly... try driving in freezing fog this time of year, thats fun... or spraying water on your windshield only for it to freeze on impact and thats if you can get the things to work when your car is so iced over the doors are frozen shut.

I'm sure us brits find it just as hard coping with the heat - you know the saying, only mad dogs and english men go out in the midday sun. Still, guys... it's only fog...

We can do a little like tell our friends which lights to turn on in foggy condition

but the traffic dept. can do a lot by educating drivers through media

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here

Than a whole truck load when I'm gone
