A former Vietnam War soldier visits a small quiet town to find look at where his friend lives. While walking along the way a rude sheriff pulls him off to jail and charges him of vagrancy for doing nothing. He suddenly resists the local police's rude procedures and knocks everyone off and went to the mountain. But the sheriff is still pushy. He brought his men to hunt him, only to realize that it was them who were hunted. They underestimated him as they've come to realize from a Fort Bragg military leader that he was highly trained on a mission to kill in Vietnam...which results into a traumatic backfire in a small quiet town.
Yes it's a Sylvester Stallone movie. But rather seeing it in that actor's stereotypical view, the movie focuses on what lives the US Vietnam War soldiers went through after the Nam. They work hard to run tanks and pull ammunitions on people and had their comrades killed by the enemies only to be insulted by not giving them a proud welcome home by its local US residents like giving them a nice job, a friendly neighborhood, or just a plain restaurant where he can find something to eat without the people around him being arrogant or rude.
No doubt, one of the best movies.

.it sometimes gives me a twinge of nostalgia, as I watched most of these movies 20 years back when I was a kid...like the way you posted Karate Kid last week..
