Finally!

QT
By QT

After nearly seven weeks of furiously typing away and experiencing many different emotions here on QatarLiving, I have finally reached my 1000 th QL Point!

It's been a rollercoaster of emotion since the day I initially signed up.  From the depressing sinking feeling I initially got when I read up about how quiet and boring Doha could be for a single man, to the welcoming feeling of kind, warm and friendly people as everybody invited me to join this lovely community and their social groups, the happiness and laughter that so many of you bring to the forums with your intelligent, witty and sometimes dry humour, to the frustration at trying to understand other people's different points of view and help them understand your's.

It all started with me thinking I'd end up being lonely when I move to Doha, a new city that I knew nothing about, new customs and practices, and scary new laws, all this with the additional responsibility of setting up a new company branch.  I remember thinking, "God Forbid!!!, the things we have to do to support our families!!!", thinking I would hate it here in the Middle East.

It's been so much more than I could have expected or asked for.  All the important information that I need is available in the forums if I search for it or simply ask.  The classified provide me with anything I need, such as accomodation, car, and items to spoil me with and the social groups should keep me busy for a lifetime.

You all showed me how wrong I was, and what a great place Doha and Qatar can be if you just find the right people to share it with!

So far, over the last six weeks and five days, I've enjoyed every minute that I've been on QatarLiving and wouldn't change a single thing about my experiences here!

I know I'm currently only an hour away from Doha, but I'm really looking forward to walking on Qatar soil tomorrow, and meeting all of you for the first time!

Thank you all so much!   Kiss

At First, when I read the first para of this thread, I thought, all this for 1000 points and then as I read along, I should admit it was quite interesting an ordeal for you mate...

Anyways, I'm pretty sure, that this hospitality from all of us will continue till you get your azz down in Qatar and then after that, you better get your azz to return the hospitality mate...LOL...kidding, but on a serious note, welcome aboard Qatar - Qatar Living, well, its tough to leave everyone and make a new beginning but then again, you dont have to leave them all, stay in touch with the past, and look forward to a NEW TOMORROW MATE, thats how all DREAMS turn into REALITY... (oooo QT, tell me man, wasnt that a good line...)...

But yea, seriously, welcome and hope to catch ya real soon in of the meetings...

Cheers mate...

That would require us all to try our best, keep coming up with more good and useful topics where we all can discuss and share the opinions without fighting ... I'd rather get one point everyday, for a good reason ... rather than getting 100 for the wrong reason ... :) I would be happy with my everyday point, knowing that I helped somehow someone ...

LOL.  No, it's not like that anymore!  We've tried reconciliation a million times over the last 8 years.  We just don't work together as a couple!  As friends though, I couldn't ask for one better!

My personal opinion is that whatever new comes into your life it comes for a reason, never in a month of Sundays would I have first thought about my social life if I had the chance to set up a new company and learn a lot of new things.

A new city is full of new experiences whether you are young and single or old and married and everyone is responsible for their own happiness.

Doha is boring for those who let it get them down and God only knows we have thousands of pessimets here but against the odds many more optimists.

You have a goal to achieve and that goal is to set up your company and make a life for yourself and as Novita said life is what YOU make it and not what others do to make it for you.
