As for your info, QL Filexpats group is just a virtual community and not recognized by the Philippine Embassy. It is very clear that the group (QL) was created for information disseminition and NOT FOR CHARITY WORK. (

Filexpats group has been involved in various social works. Our social work is but not limited to fellow filipinos. Members are not politicians nor celebrities and so the assistance we extend to fellow kababayan and to other nationalities NEED NOT TO BE PUBLICIZED. We help the best that we could but we move as quietly as possible. Remember that, we're in a place where the law is strictly implemented to all violators, no matter how good your intention is.

First of all filex is not a charitable group .Yes ,we help people but we consider many things before helping.We don't act individually here but as a group.And most of all ,we dont accept money or give money to those unfortunate ,it may be in kind or useful items .We have reasons why and Mr. Treysdad can explain it to you clearly.

actually, i was thinking about this yesterday, its good nephi brought this out.

so many kabayan's are in dire need, hindi po lahat ay kumikita ng tama, ang iba ay nalulubog pa sa mga nag pa 5-6 din na mga kabayan natin, at hindi na makabangon,. ang iba ay may emergency na pangangailangan nagkasakit,namatayan etc.... how can we help them?

maybe in every gathering that you're going to organize, we can put a corner for charity like donations in cash or in kind, nag e enjoy ka na sa gathering/party nakakatulong ka pa. how about that?

note: isang kabayan ang kausap ko kahapon ang nangangailangan dahil namatayan ng byenan at walang maipampalibing. ang husband's side nya ay wala ding magawa dahil mga hirap din,ano ang pwede nating gawin? who's willing to help? and how can we reach her?

malley is right. FILEX continues to help others but in a low profile and not just exclusive to members. Some being posted in the thread and others are not (can be thru PMs to members).

A piece of advise also to newbies in Qatar Living, a little search for something before you post will do better to pre-empt any "attacks" positive or not.

Nephi was only pointing out that since our FILEX Group has a close relationship/bond/ties to each other why not do a charity program..if this has been done before then its good and maybe we can make it again as suggested by Nephi..there's no need to "how dare you blah blah blah ratatatatattatat" line on this matter..peace;p)

TANYA..that's a normal human reaction..everybody felt that specially if you're not willing to give....

May i suggest that you try to do it heartily, for sure you felt the real feelings of happiness that you can't explain.

if you will go over the fast threads of Filex. and check out the old ones,you will find out that filex has been helping a lot of people already with the help of QatarLiving Volunteer Group or to make it easier for you ,go to fieryangelinthesky's profile and track his posts .

We don't just party .And I don't see anything wrong with it.We enjoy and help others at the same time.For those who are really willing to help the needy,give donations/help in kind (clothes ,foods etc.)please contact Filex admins or QLVG or Speed.

MALLRAT..it is not necessary to have a research when you want to help others...and I dont consider this a SH_T..

Though everything is being kept out of the "limelights" as this charitable acts are not allowed unless its done under the name of accredited Charitable institituions here in Qatar (like RED CRESCENT). There are several successful projects under the group's cap in coordination with the QatarLiving Volunteer Group)...

So, I could say, FilExpat group is not just for merriment. :-)

nicaq25 I think no problem posting it here..speaking of charity does not mean for filipinos only...I just specified to our kabayan but that would be extended to other nationalities.

However, whenever FILEX group happens to know about fellow 'kabayan' who needs our help then FILEX is always there. Meet-ups will be posted for collections and admins are responsible for handing it to the concerned persons.

Its not exactly bawal sa Qatar ang pagtulong..kaya lang minsan..sa mga di inaasahan pang yayari..nagkakataon, ung tumutulong minsan ay napapahamak. each and every one of the so called unfortunate has its own story to tell. may mga pwedeng tulungan ng volunteer group, may mga mas dapat lang na ipaubaya sa ating embahada...yup hindi masyadong aktibo ang embahada or minsan nga di pa kumikilos, pero trabaho nila un, what vlounteers can do is only limited.

If there is a need, i think Filexpat will think of something. And rockdude, there is nothing wrong with parties and stuff. Having a life and helping others is a different thing.
