Facebook - how much is too much?

Amoud
By Amoud

Facebook is changing how we communicate. If you want to know what someone is up to, just visit their profile, or visit through a friend of a friend etc.

Status messages are something else all together. How much is too much? and how far is too far with divulging your life stories? I am finding that as of late a lot of people should have censored keyboards that dont allow them to post something that is just not right.

Lol, Brit you need to update from your phone and tell us when you get in your car etc....

Funny thing is, I am being chewed out for posting this by people stating FB statuses are a persons choice.... anyone else find that ironic? I guess QL isnt FB is it.

One of my friends posts her pictures whenever she wears a bikini.

I never thought of it in that sense Brit. I do have a friend who updates her status every half hour via BB. I know everywhere she goes and with whom.

I laughed when I saw one site of how a gal got fired because she put a bunch of stuff on FB about her boss and forgot she added him.

Status messages should not be allowed. Recently, a website in France took all these and made a map of people absent from their homes - The idea being that burglars could use this information which is readily available.

One can only decide for oneself as to how much is too much...if others forget to set their limits, we can only ignore, its their life after all.

But yes, lately I have witnessed many people have started using FB as twitter with silly status updates. I love FB for it helps me stay connected with people I haven't met in years. And till now, I don't have any reasons to hate it.

Happy FaceBooking everyone!

I was having FB account till sometime back but i deleted it coz of too much openness..Even i dislike the idea where people update everything about their seconds or minute or hours routine work...I never put such updates till the time i was the account holder on FB and never found any interest in knowing about others(my frds)..

friend...we cannot please everybody...they cn do and post whatever they want ..we cannot control pipol....thats the disadvantage of media...minimized ur friend ,,,andmake it private ur account...

John I am asking people what their limit is, I set none of my own nor decided what is right for other people.

I decided for my teenager when I thought his cousins content was inappropriate, but I didnt decide for you :)

Yes, crawling around on FB means I have no life. Pissing about on QL is MUCH better.

I never insinuated I was a victim either. Where do you come up with this stuff?

Agreed Xena, and my family, kids and friends see what I post. I am sure half of the things people post is not stuff they would say to someones face to face.

I see, amoud, you are a victim of Facebook. But it's your own fault. WTF do you go there? No life to live?

Pirate, generally when someone has nothing constructive to contribute they give answers like yours. I dont get some people who just want to rub people the wrong way.

Some people try to sail across the ocean, and when a storm hits them, they start to cry.

I also don't like reading about when last someone had a bowel movement;-P

Had a situation where I was watching someone of my friends list who constantly tells the world about their sexual exploits and drinking binges here in Qatar... then oneday when I commented on losing my number if CID ever came visiting -as a joke... This person basically insulted me by posting that I was insinutating they were slutty.... and gave me alot of attitude when they saw me again...

If you don't like it, go somewhere else.
