britexpat, yo.. mate u make cracking up here.. sorry about the rain. you certainly missed out our biggest rain ever recorded in 2006 when Doha 2006 happening.

Not listening to you any more Mila! yesterday after your warning, I took out my umbrella, rain coat, wellington boots and an extra mac... It rained for about ten seconds and all I got was dirt on my car.

some part of Doha will get more rain this evening.

Yes, it did rain yesterday.  But it did not reain hard enough to clean out all those dust.  Only rain for a few min in Doha.  Wish that it could rain hard for a few hours to clean things out, but again people in Doha don't really know how to drive in the rain...

It rains in Mamoura! I can hear the rain drops falling. My garden will love it. You people should have more faith, even if it is in the humble meteorology department of Qatar.

Sorry but I missed the rain....saw only the wet ground.  Looked pretty strange.  All the outside tiles looked a different colour and were wet.  I felt like I was walking on an alien planet.

Best things to do on a rainy day...

1. Swim in the pool with the splashing rains.

2. Ride a cycle in the rain (Not in Doha at least or Doha roads have to be deserted).

3. Trek to a near by hill......I really miss our monsoon visits to Khandala.

4. and the best, easiest and my most favourite of is to watch sports on the

TV stay in bed with a hot cup of coffee and cuddle a “nice laptop” ....not of the Dell or Acer kind.

I once waded 40Kms on foot through flooded water in Mumbai (from Dadar to

Kandivili)  took me 8hours. circa July 2006  Sometimes the water would be

waist high some time knee high and some time around the ankle, all through

 it was raining elephants & camels. Still enjoyed it.

It looks as sunny as can be….The Qatar meteorological department is generally wrong…..seems like their forecasts are based on one of their dreams….  Like last year they predicted sunny forecasts with slight rain on the first day when it rained for 3 days on end……On the second day they predicted rain…
