Exit permit worry
By andyscrabble •
I am due to fly from Doha to Heathrow early tomorrow morning, and I was told by my employer that I had to go to airport security with exit visa paperwork.
So last night I dutifully queued up at the security building. The police officer at the desk took my exit visa paperwork, scanned it, and didn't return anything to me. When I asked him why I had no receipt, he just waved his hand and said 'You're in the system now'.
I'm really worried that I will get to departures tomorrow and be told that I need an exit permit receipt to leave Qatar. Can anyone clarify the situation for me? I'm very confused.
Thanks
Andy
Insist to give you any proof to be shown at the departure, i always do it. I don't leave till i am given assurance. I ask the officer to sign a paper that i already got a permit, not only for exit permit but to anything i needed for documentation. It's just so hard if incase there was a failure in the system.
I suggest making/keeping a photocopy in future. Be a little paranoid like me and photocopy all travel related documents in triplicate. ;-)
I have the same experience so don’t worry. I went to Qatar airport few hours before and gave my exit permit. He just scanned the barcode.I was waiting for the receipt then he said “finish .in system”. Then the next person came from the queue. Then I noticed that he is not returning any paper to anybody unlike four months before when I travel to India.
Now the only problem is that we don’t have any evidence if they say “not in the system” at airport.
