Flomaster, I do not believe anyone here stated America has a monopoly on that.

As I have been saying for almost my entire time of posting here on QL.... I and the majority of the world EXPECT better from America.

It doesn't shock me that their is racism in certain other countries. I expect it to be there. And that is the difference... Expectations my friend....

Brit, yeah it sure is a sad day when that is all that counts in the world.

But its fact and we gotta either live with it or try to change it, but no clue how we can do either, it sickens me.

15 years for nicking 100 dollars......Plus, the dollar is worthless now anyway, so who would really care.

He shoulda just kept quiet and spent it on a coffee and a bun, that would have taken all the money anyway at places like costalot coffee or fivebucks :D

I don't know what is worst, being broke for ever, because some jackass stole all your investment and monies, or go to jail for four years and still got some money stash some where that you stole from others, collecting interest in someone else's name and account, until you get out.

Do you actually believe those bankers will be off the hook that easy?

Who knows.....

Some amusing ways of seeing the same thing huh?

I'm afraid I have to say having been born and raised in the States, this kind of true injustice happens all the time.

A Merry Can.. you're right man. Those are the reasons this guy was locked up for years..

Or...

He sees an opportunity, the hundered dollars will last him a little while, but 15 years in prison... He has free room and food, access to a library to better his education, they can even do bachelors in prison now. When released he is elegible for state funding (basicly pay for an apartment)while on probation, they will find him a job. He will have a chance to start from scratch and avoid the hole he ended up in in the first place.

Silver lining here people, look for it.

quite possible that it was the AIG guys first arrest, while the other guy might have several on his record, hence a longer sentence.

Because justice is not blind....

In one case the perp is a homeless poor black man and in the other the perp is probably a rich white guy....

So Luvtodrive according to the formula that a man receives 15 years for $100; how many years does the AIG $500 million fraud guy deserve?
