ESL position wanted - have "limitations"

I want to teach ESL/EFL, etc. but I dont have a BA or BS. I am willing to invest in an online cert or diploma, and intend to take it seriously by continuing my education on the side, but dont have any formal teaching experience. I have 15+ years in business management in the US, and am married to a "foreigner" so I feel that I have been "teaching" in one way or another for a very long time. Any advice? Ive lived in Doha before and would like to come back soon, but would prefer to have a job waiting for me. I am open to suggestions...thank u in advance for your help!

You might (and it's a big maybe) get work on a piece work basis at a "language" school. But even that would be very unlikely. You don't have the right qualifications on paper, and that's what counts in the GCC.

Many tertiary institutions require a Master's of Applied Linguistics or similar PLUS 3 years of related post graduate experience - and those are the better jobs to have.

There is also a LOT of competition in this marketplace with people who do have the required qualifications. Suggest you consider Mandi's advice and consider looking for work in business.

I'm not too sanguine about your chances. There are a lot of people out there with experience, master's degrees and CELTA certification (NOT on line.) Perhaps you'd be better off looking in the business sector.
