Entering Qatar with Israeli Stamp

I was always under the impression that if you had an Israeli stamp in your passport you wouldn't be able to get in to Qatar.
So how is it that DJ Markus Schulz, who is coming to Doha to perform at the Armin Van Buuren concert, will be able to get in, if he has been in Israel as recently as Jan 2010?
Has Qatar relaxed it's relations with Israel now?

You are in Qatar, aren't you mate? lol
@ fubar...do you have any idea how many Jews LIVE in Qatar?...
it should be relaxed i suppose. Isn't there an "Embassy of Israel in Qatar?"
No problem entering Qatar with an Israeli stamp. That is the official position of the Qatar Embassy in the US.
Mandi
Lakes, they don't check any page of mine, I have eGate :o)
Rules here in Qatar change often. Relaxed relations between Qatar & Israel led to a diplomatic trade office being opened here a few years ago.
The office was closed however due to the recent Gaza War. There have been Israeli officials coming to speak at events sponsored by the Qatar Foundation, so I suppose restrictions are still relaxed on immigration issues. Nevertheless, it seems to be something that changes in relation to the political situation.
its not a problem anymore. and besides, immigration doesn't check every page of your passport.
no problem whatsoever. Qatar is very tolerant
It's Qatar, the laws are very...'flexible' in whichever way they choose. There would obviously be someone of importance on the boards of Intercon etc. with influence. How do you think Shahar Peer got into the country?
You can request them not to stamp your passport. Theu will accomodate you if you explain the reasons ..
So far, they haven't searched my passport looking for what other visas or stamps I may have. They just look for the Qatar visa and go from there. I guess this isn't really an authoritative answer to your question.
I guess. I always thought they were quite strict about those sorts of things.
Armin Van Buuren has performed in Israel heaps of times in recent years.
And DJ Tiest performed there back in July 2010.
Perhaps when there's money to be made by someone, then these thigns are happily overlooked by someone high up?
Maybe he has 2 passports, or maybe his Jan passport has expired and been replaced, or maybe they just stamped a loose piece of paper that he has since removed, or maybe immigration can't be arsed looking at every stamp in his passport to see if he's been there recently.
