English Teacher for my 3,5 year old daughter

Hi everybody,

We arrived to DOHA in December and my 3,5 year old daughter is going to a nursery since February. She didn't know any word of English. Now, here is my problem. I don't see any visible progress in her English since February. We have a Turkish babysitter, so my daughter doesnt have to much chance to develop her English at home. And I realised that in the school, teachers are not supporting -non English speaking- children too much for learning English. The problem is, she will start reception class in September and most of the schools are asking for fluent English in the reception class. When I asked the teacher, why they are not teaching shapes, numbers, or seasons, etc. she told me that most of the children already knows them from last years. The teacher told that she will learn English in time, but I feel that we should support her till September.

Now, I am looking for someone for playing with my daughter for 1-2 hrs everyday and talk with her in English, read books, etc. (it can be a teacher or just someone who likes children and playing with them and of course with fluent english). My daughter is in the school up to 2 pm for 5 days. So, our playmate may come our home from 17:00 to 19:00 or timing can be discussed... Please help me if you know anybody who can be interested to be our home teacher. I am also waiting for your advises other ways of supporting my child for English...

Thanks in advance and have a nice day...

May i ask which nursery does she go? Maybe you should approach one of the assistant asking if they want to earn extra money in the evening. Ask her to come around to your place and play with your daughter
