Hi everybody! I'm coming to all of you with a question - does somebody know here in Doha if I can find for my Chinese wife some English courses? I've checked the ELS (English Learning School) but they don't have Chinese teachers! Thanks in advance!
BTW, you misunderstand, I wasn't meaning to be rude.
I was telling you "I don't mean to be rude" because I didn't want you to misinterpret or misunderstand me (which you did).
It's not rude of me to point out that the vast majority of Chinese people don't have the English language skills to teach English, it's simply a statement of fact.
Having lived and worked in Beijing and met many Chinese speakers of English as a second (or third or fourth language), I'd still say that the best way forward is to find a native English speaker.
Learning from a Chinese person whose English isn't the best will just compound errors not correct them.
Yes, I have to agree with you about the proper pronunciation - this one you can get it only from a native English speaker. But no need to be rude - why I'm looking for a Chinese teacher? - for a simple reason - hope you understand - is more easy to explain and to understand all the grammar rules and the words meaning in your mother language - don't you think? Right?!
Why do you need a Chinese teacher to teach English? You need a native English speaker, surely?
I don't mean to be rude but it's unlikely a Chinese teacher will be able to teach your wife the proper pronunciation and is very unlikely to be sufficiently skilled to teach English.
