As much as I do not like Tony Blair - what has he got to do with this situation?

Well thing's are certainly getting worse.

Gun shots have been heard, people dying in the street and ambulances not allowed. Tear gas being fired. Tanks moving in.

This is so sad to see and hear.

It must be very bad as some friends of ours who live in Bahrain - who survived being in Saudi - are thinking of coming here to stay with us.

The people of bahrain are not neccessarily asking for full democracy. They just want their voices heard and their grievances dealt with.

These Arab countries have been sponsoring/funding the Jihadi groups for quite long in my country.....let them have a taste of unrest & turmoil in their own backyard now.

Democracy and freedom seem like strange words in places like Libya and now Bahrain. They will have to listen to the voice of change and that may come about sooner rather then later in those countries

Stealth, you are right. It is for three months. Thanks for notifying.

BTW, LP, What is the issue of the 'irrelevance'?. I have seen something in this morning also. Are we discussing here only the issues and news from Qatar?

They also killed people in Ivory Coast, in Iraq, and Afghanistan. But it's their country. What does it have to do with Qatar? Is this Bahrainliving.com here or what?

It's irrelevant. It's in Bahrain and not in Qatar! And it's their country. They can do what they want.

Are some taking lessons from Ghaddafi?

Not really..

The emergency powers give the government authority to use force and stop demonstrations and anarchy.

The other countries in the region are not really affected. Saudi has already shown that it is willing to use force where neccessary, so dissent is minimal. the UAE is quiet. Nothing much at present in Oman either.

hope it will end up peacefully!

This will have serious consequences on the entire region as a whole.

it is not three days, it is three months.

The king of Bahrain has declared a state of emergency for three months on the island following weeks of anti-government protests, state television said.
