Eggs

Has anyone noticed that there are no eggs (Hens) available at many stores in Qatar.

We usually buy a tray every two weeks from Lulu Hypermarket and they are out of stock for the past couple of days, they only have a pack of 6 for Qr.11/- They say, as all chicken and eggs supplies from Saudi are banned we are in short supply. They do not even have the local eggs.

Sadia chicken gizzard is also not available for the past 4 weeks. This is from Brazil.

The only people that gave me a sensible response was Dasman, at Pepsi signal. They say, chicken and eggs from Saudi has been banned due to the virus. Even Qatar has not been spared from this virus. The entire local supply has been done away with.

I was able to buy a tray of India eggs from FFC at Qr.15/- this was early priced below Qr.8/-

I consider us lucky, that the government takes such good care of us. Even if they do not make it public knowledge.

Who cares if the hens are healthy? I don't care if the hens smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day and cough until noon as long as the eggs are cheap. 30 eggs for 11 riyals.....

If there is shortage of eggs in Qatar, that means théy're doing some preventive measures to control Avian flu virus of entering the state.

Do yo mean that hens producing ordinary snd not organic eggs are fed with unhealthy food??????????

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

The eggs they are selling are organic fed. That's why it's 7.50 for 6 pieces. They said it's healthy feed hens.

Good morning Darude,e46m3,angelo...

I was really wondering for some time now about these eggs

it seems like it's just a few of them in the stock place and if there are eggs, the price is unreasonable, Thanx for posting this info bout these eggs....and thanx to the Government for protecting us from such virus...

Yes, the egg situation has been going on for a while now. I saw some UAE eggs yesterday at the FFC. Plenty of local chicken too. Cook thoroughly.

Good of you to respond.

The reason I mentioned Hens is because I did not want anyone to think of Parrots, Monkeys etc EGGS.

Everyone in our family love eggs for breakfast and friday's is the only day of the week that we can sit and have breakfast together.

Have a great weekend.
