- cards are not issued for children. So if are travelling with the family, the expensive cards are useless.

- I went to the eGate office to apply for the card. Waiting times 30 minutes, I was served by a local Qatari 150 kg plus lady that was too lazy too work as she eating chips and typing on the blackberry continuously. After complaining, she yelled angrily in arabic. After yelling back in my own language, she called the helpdesk guy. This poor guy had to do the work for her. Then it turned out that that the registration machines were not working properly. Eventually, three visits (second visit nobody was available although we want during official opening hours) later we received our cards.

I am not sure if it is open on Fridays and Saturdays but on week days it is open till late evenings.

You have the option of 1,2 or 3 years. All you need is your passport and QID.

Your picture is taken at the unit itself

The office is on the right side of the departure enterance,

I believe each person has an individual card.

It's good to have. No long queues and frustrations :)

Good luck
