DVD Review 3

Here it is folks another DVD review.

Again got 3 movies this weekend (Reason of which is mentioned in DVD review 2)

1) Hotel Rwanda

Story of a man ( real life story ) who saved life of more then 1200 people in Rwanda genocide, this movie makes you realize stark reality of life which is, value of life is not same, does life of African person is valued equally as a life of a citizen of rich & powerful country. More then a million people died as international community shameless looked the other way.

If anybody thinks one man cannot make a difference then I recommend this movie, one man did make a difference, at least for the people who survived due to his courage.

DVD has interview of real life Paul Ruseabagina and his wife, don’t forget to see that.

This movie is highly recommended

2) The Terminal

This is a light hearted movie which keeps you interested and guessing from start to finish. Tom Hanks was brilliant in the movie, his acting was on another level (Unlike in Da Vinci Code), Catherine Zeta Jones on the other hand was her plastic self, to be fare with her she had a very limited character.

This is a story of a man who gets stuck in JFK for more then nine months due to problems with his visa being cancelled due to war in his country. Story goes on about how he survives his stay in airport, learns English and makes friends.

At one point in the movie, Tom Hanks was asked to say that he has a fear of returning to his country and if he said that he will be given asylum and all his problems will be over. He said a beautiful thing “I don’t fear my country, its home.� May be there is a lesson for many asylum seekers who dishonor their country for a western passport.

This movie is highly recommended.

3) Spanglish

I had seen the preview of this movie and thought it would be a comedy movie, boy I was wrong. This is one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time.

Story is about Mexican maid working for a white family, while maid does not speak English, family she works for don’t speak Spanish. If you still laugh at people running into glass doors then you will laugh once during this movie, other than that this movie is a disaster. All the actors specially Adam Sandler were horrible, there is not even one good thing to write about this movie.

Over acting, no story line, I don’t know what the hell guys in Sony Pictures were thinking when they released this junk.

Definitely, give it a miss.

Bonus – One TV (Dubai Based, free to air on nile and arab sat) is showing “The Last Samurai� on Sunday 6th August at 9 pm. Its a great movie don't miss it.

Same ch is showing “ I am sam� on Monday (I Think) at 9 pm. If you want to see what good acting is all about don’t miss this one. Sean Penn was amazing in this movie, what a actor. Movie is alright not that great.

Dakota Fanning is also very impressive in this movie.
