Dubious Drycleaners?? :-/

We went yesterday to a drycleaners near our home to give a few curtains and quilts for dry clean.I was just going thru the bill and noticed they'd put in some clauses at the back of the bill.Something that did disturb me was that one of the clauses read "The company will not be responsible for any damage or running colour in the clothes given" and another one read "Goods will be returned within 48 hours. If the customer fails to collect it,the company will not be responsible for it's loss.In the unlikely event of the item getting lost within the 48 hours, the company is liable to pay 10 times the service charge for that item"....WTH???How can people just accept these things???

Suppose I give them an expensive dress worth a few thousands and they lose it and give me a measly 130 riyals (the basic charge is 13 riyals for dresses),what should I be doing?

Is this the same system followed everywhere or should I be thinking of some other drycleaners? :-S

they dont care about customers.. they shouldnt be allowed to do that or print it.

customers should have rights ,in this case you mentiones and in other cases like returning goods and getting refund, almost all shops in doha dont accept to refund your money, they will give you exchange period from 48 hours to maximum 2weeks..

why shops do that? why always the customer is suspect? are they afraid he'll cheat them or something.. thats not a business mentality,,,

Its just a warning they put...."Fail to collect within x time limit" clause...so that people come back soon...and not after one month...lol

Even if they were to loose the Dress....the QR130 would be paid to you from the Counter Clerk's salary.....so he would be damn alert so as not to loose your clothes...
