Dubai unites to find missing South African

Members of a South African family are scouring the city for their relative who has been missing for more than a week after being beaten up with a baseball bat outside her Al Barsha home.

KERRYDubai Police are interrogating a British national after neighbours claimed to have seen the man, identified as her ex-boyfriend, repeatedly hitting her with a baseball bat before dragging her into her car on August 20.

She was bleeding from the head. KerryWinter, 35, and her car, a gun-metal Ford Explorer with a Dubai licence plate number 86914, have been missing ever since. Kerry’s brother, Kurt Winter, is desperately seeking information about his sister’s whereabouts, even making an online appeal ‘Help Us Find Kerry’ through networking site Facebook which has nearly 900 members offering support.

An officer from the Bur Dubai police station confirmed to Khaleej Times that a British national was detained by police in connection with the disappearance of Kerry. “We are carrying out extensive search operations for Kerry around Dubai.

In the meantime, we are interrogating a man for suspected involvement in the case,” said a police officer. Kurt and his son-inlaw David Giles arrived in Dubai from South Africa on Tuesday, after Kerry’s colleagues, from International Conferences and Exhibitions, contacted them.

“Her neighbours say it was quite a severe beating,” Kurt said. “They tried to come to her rescue but he turned on them with the baseball bat.

She was on the ground bleeding from her head, he hit her head and dragged her and shoved her into the car.”

Since the pair’s arrival, they’ve been doing everything they can to find Kerry. “We’ve been talking to the police, all her friends, searching malls to find her car, trying everything to find her,” Kurt said

The pair have not been able to find Kerry at medical centres around the city. They say police were unclear as to how severe her injuries appear from the blood found at the scene.

“Kerry is very private. Her friends don't know much but she had mentioned about some expatriate ladies whom she had met on the beach. We haven't been able to contact them,” he said. “We don't know what to do. We hope that may be if people see her, they'll be able to help.” To help, contact Dubai Police, or Kurt on [email protected]

Thejam, comments like yours do not bring anything positive to this thread. What he did is awful indeed, everyone agrees to that. But what you said will only bring hatred towards westerners. We all know there are good and bad people from all races and all religions.

I request that you please delete the first paragraph of your comment, for sake of peace in this thread.

That's what you get when you start bringing scum to this part of the world. This part of the middle east was safe and quiet before. Not anymore, I mean battering a wowan with a baseball ball. You only hear or see that in the West.

well keep up with the Jones's.

execute him,...if only there was a way to bring someone back to life, they should bring him back to life after they execute him, then execute him again, and again and again.... but i guess no matter how many times they do it to that scum, it would never heal the wound he has created to the hearts of the people who loved Kerry dearly... :(

According to the Scum, Mark Arnold has admitted killing his missing ex-lover and dumping her body in the sea off Dubai, police said yesterday.

Executive Mark Arnold, 42, is being held by cops probing the disappearance of Kerry Winter, 35.

Detectives confirmed he had finally told them he killed South African Kerry.

Major-General Khamis Matar Al Mezeina, Deputy Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, said full details would be disclosed once investigations were complete.

Arnold, originally from Stoke-on-Trent, has lived for six years in the Gulf state, where he is operations manager for an interior design firm.

Kerry has been missing since August 20. Arnold was arrested three weeks ago — following his return from a trip to the UK — after neighbours claimed they had seen him attack Kerry with a baseball bat outside her home.

Guys, if I may ask one huge favor... Please, let us try not to be ugly nor judgemental.

Honestly, I don't care if the guy was drunk or not. I don't care if he was high or not. I don't care if he's British, Polish, South African or Brazilian. Right now, none of that make any difference. I put myself in her family's shoes and all I wanted was for him to come clean and tell her family if she's dead or alive and where she is.

Sorry I hate the excuse...oh I was drunk...

Briton Mark Arnold 'has confessed to beating and dumping former girlfriend'

Friends claim that Ms Winter had accused her former lover Mark Arnold of stalking her in the weeks before her disappearance

The wealthy British businessman has allegedly confessed to beating his former girlfriend and dumping her in the Dubai desert on the day she disappeared.

Mark Arnold, 42, has insisted to police that Kerry Winter was alive and well when he left her two weeks ago and that he has no idea where she is now.

The missing women’s family have received a series of text messages from her mobile telephone saying she alive and asking about the police investigation. However, they now suspect the messages were sent by someone else.

Mr Arnold, from the Midlands, flew to Britain two days after Ms Winter vanished on August 20. He returned to Dubai three days later and was arrested.

Friends claim that Ms Winter, 35, had accused her former lover of stalking her in the weeks before her disappearance and that she had been forced to move home three times.

Neighbours told police they saw her being beaten with a baseball bat outside her villa in the Al Barsha suburb. When they tried to intervene, they were also attacked and chased away.

The attacker then bundled a bleeding Ms Winter into her car and drove off. The car was later found abandoned.

Mr Arnold, a director of a leading Middle East design company, has been charged with assaulting Ms Winter.

Ms Winter’s brother Kurt Winter and nephew Dave Giles were asked by Dubai police to talk to Mr Arnold in the hope that he would revealed her whereabouts. They spoke to him twice but he stuck to the same story, they said.

“He admits assaulting Kerry, but says that he cleaned up her head wound and dropped her off on the side of the road in the desert,” said Mr Giles. “He says that she was coherent and fine when he left her.

“We spoke to him for about 15 minutes. He seemed very relaxed and calm in his conversation but it is easy to rile him. It’s like he is pretending to be sorry and remorseful, but when you look in his eyes, there’s nothing there.

“He is still telling us the same story that when he left her she was fine and that he left her in the Arabian Ranches.”

I'm not sure, britexpat. All I know is that my husband called me telling me it was on the radio over there. So I found the news online.
