DRIVING IN QATAR

PaddyBhoy
By PaddyBhoy

I think the driving standard in Qatar is really low and needs to be improved as a matter of urgency.

And am I the only one who thinks Indian drivers are the worst breed of drivers in Qatar? One nearly killed me a couple o weeks ago by ramming into my car from behind. It's such a shame.

Driving was one of the reasons when I left Qatar for good, I could not take it anymore, putting my kids lives in risk for some jerks.

@ paddybhoy,it's a figure of speech mate...when i said you & your three friends,i was referring to the small handfull of people that shared your opinion...

I wasn't talking about the little Indian in his corolla in the fast lane mate...that was/often is me,cruise control set @ 119km/h on a 120 limit road, the lunatic local tearing down on me is in his halogen flashing land cruiser is doing about 130-140kmph...

Statistics have proven that the tendency of an accident occuring is higher @ a higher driving speed, the tendency of that accident resulting in death or permanent disability is also higher...seems to me like you're enamoured by psychotic local driving 'cos it's fast & potentially fatal but the WORST drivers are Indians???...logically shouldn't the most dangerous driver's demographic also be the worst?...just asking,it's a matter of perspective i suppose...

So hopefully that's cleared up?...i was using a figure of speech is all,i apologize for calling you racist but i do want to clarify that if what you said were in fact true,i wouldn't have done so,don't get me wrong, the guy crawling in his corolla in the fast lane is a danger apart from being the incorrect way to drive,my point was that they are a close second but not the worst/most dangerous...that honour belongs to someone else...

I really do hate them.... I always pray for the light to turn red or green when its my turn at the R/A, otherwise you have have idiots pushing you from behind to force you into the traffic... they don't seem to understand that when I am standing still its because there are cars coming... not just passing the time till my next tea break;-P

There are hardly any rules followed here. Nobody understands what lanes are for, changing lanes without any indicator, tailgating is normal, overspeeding if no cameras around then suddenly dropping from 120 to 60 in front of a camera though the speed limit is 80 or 100 throughout. Everybody is breaking the rules.

they will drive at 60 in the fast lane.

they will press the full break at once in the middle of the road even if the car driver just put a foot on the brake paddle even 100m ahead

if you can assure me the the person rammed into your car was indian I'll stop driving.. because they cannot drive fast.

I don't want to name any nationality but I think most of "THEM" are constipated when on the road - lots of flashing from the back, lots of overtaking, cutting, never ending continuous beeping of horns, cars almost touching the back of your car, etc. etc. etc.

Seriously, they don't have to do that since they're not the only ones with appointments or whatever it is that lets them rush.
