Drinking & Driving

I will start with this joke:

Two drunk guys stumble out of a bar and get into their car. After they've been driving for a while, they see a ghostly face appear at the window.
"It's a ghost, dude!"
"Roll down the window, ask him what he wants!" The driver rolls down the window, and asks the ghost.
"You got a smoke?" They give him a smoke, and the face goes away. A few minutes later, the face returns.
"You got a light?" They give a light, and the face goes away. A few minutes later, the face returns.
"You guys need help getting out the mud?"

Early morning today I was hit by a drunk driver in one of the single light while I was stopping in the red light, thanx god I was putting my seatbelt because with the speed the other car hit me I can find my self thrown through the wind shield.

While I was trying to observe what is happening I went out of the car trying to evaluate the situation when I was talking to the driver he he couldn't stand at all and was dancing left and right and liquor aroma if hitting me like he was putting a strong perfume.

He asked me if we can exchange mobile number and he will take of everything tomorrow, I refused and called the police, and he was pushing my to let him go which I refuse, then the police arrive and they ask me to make a statement in the police station.

My question here what will be his punishment? Is he going to be deported?

As I understand from him that his doughtier is not will, and I assume that he is drinking to forget what is happening to her, is it wise to go and get drunk and kill other people?

I think this guy is in deep mud and only god can help him.

To my follow QL avoid going out late on a weekend, drive safe and ware your seat built.

Making taxis more available at hotels late at night would encourage people to not DND.

and while you're at it, would also instruct them to use the meter, pleaeeeeeez!?

No it's not insulting to do breath tests In Public, it's insulting when people die due to drink drivers. There should be zero tolerance

The official blood alcohol tolerance is 0.0 (zero.zero)

Penalties include arrest, jail time and usually deportation and banned. This may vary according to nationality/passport.

Not worth the risk anywhere in the world. The consequences are just not worth it for the driver or his family and any innocent victims maimed or killed for such stupidity.

While I was in the police station I asked them why they didn't have the breath test on spot, the answer was the court will not take it as a lodgment evidence or prove that he was under alcohol effect.

And it will look insulting for conducting such a test in public and roads.

Shehabi well done to hold your ground. it could have been far more serious the next time and how many times has he gotten away with this in the past.

Would anyone like to share what the drink drive laws and punishments actually are?

The police should stop cars outside of hotels and breath tests motorists for alcohol. There is no excuse of not getting a taxi on the way home.

Only problem is they will catch too many qataris and this is embarrassing for them
