very unfair comments, i have 2 hondas, i city and the new CRV and i am very happy with them. better than any other japanese cars.
I would definetly not heed happy_moon's advice, a safety recall is a very common occurance amongst car manufactures, EVERY car manufacture has had some type of safety recall at some point in their companies lifespan, whether it be a seat belt, fuel pump, steering linkage, whatever. Honda's and Toyota's are well known for their extreme reliability and other japanese cars are also known to be reliable in general. Honda has done the right thing by looking out for the safety of its buyers by offering a free recall.
Also thought i would mention that oftentimes parts are outsourced to other companies for manufacturing, Bosch for example is a popular german fuel system manufacturer but you will find their products on many of the new direct injection type engines, american, japanese, german cars alike!
in my country Indonesia have a very good reputation, and it seems people here who i know owning a honda also happy with it.
Dude, its not "ALL Japanese" cars like you said. Just looked up the paper and it says Honda is calling back 166,000 cars of Accord, Oddessey and one more model in the US alone.
Infact, I feel its good on Honda's part to openly admit their mistake and repay customer's faith by repairing the faulty part in car's fuel pump for free.
