My daughter is going there and I find it a really good school. She is almost three and learned very fast in the last term: singing nursery rhymes, counting, social skills, ...
Her class is really good organised and so is the Staff. They've a new principal since a year of two. Maybe it was unorganised before that time? But al lot can happen in two years.
The communication is very good and there are a lot of interesting days like Sports Day, Book Day, International Day, ...
The school is moving to a whole new building in february 2008. This can only make things better. I'm glad my daughter goes to DMBS.
You'll get mixed reviews about most Schools in Doha. Peolpe have different opinions and standards. To be honest this is one school we never applied to because it was full at the time. If you want my honest view on schooling here PM me and I'll reply. Ohterwise some people on the board of late, will use certain replies to initiate a Race/ Culture Slanging match. One thing I think everyone does agree with is that Schooling is difficult to obtain out here with persevernce.
Humanity is simply a parade of fools....and im right at the front twirling the biggest baton anyones ever seen.
I know someone who worked there and left after 2 weeks because she said it was so badly organised. Personally, when I went to look round for my daughter 2 years ago, pre -school teacher seemed lovely and very capable but there were many rowdy boys who took all of her attention, and when she left them for a moment with the assistant it turned to absolute chaos! I made my mind up then and there not to send my daughter even though we had no other offers at that time and had already paid the deposit! Luckily she was offered a place at Doha College a few days later and this has turned out to be a fantastic school which she and her younger sister love attending!
