Unlike Qatar Philharmonic which its members consist professional musician, Doha Community Orchestra and The Doha Singers are made up of people who living and working in Qatar. They hold day time job during the day and play in this orchestra as their way to express their passion towards music.
On Thursday 14th Nov. I attended the venue at America School of Doha. The performance on the night divided by two. The first half was from Doha Community Orchestra. They played six songs, Variations on a Theme by Handel, The Great Gate of Kiev, Alegretto Grazioso from Symphony no 8, Selections from Phantom of The Opera, Uptown Hoedown, and Take Five.

After the break the performance continued with The Doha Singers, amongst the members I saw my son’s music teacher at school and a few others I recognized. They sang Jericho, The Turtledove, Kyrie from Mass in G, The Awakening, Alleluia and One More Day.

It was such an enthusiastic audience they gave an encore performance We Wish You a Merry Christmas (in November? :-) )
It was certainlyan entertaining night, if you ever get the chance to see it yourself next time around, it is well worth a visit.
