does car mileage really matters?

hello everyone! as i posted before here QL that im buying a 2nd hand mazda 6 for about QR24,000. i checked it out and still in good condition but what bothered me was the mileage. It ran for about 190,000km. since it is a 2nd hand car, the AC is not that cool anymore. so, i have to go repair shop to check it... Is the price reasonable? pls advice..... thank you....
Yes mileage does matter it tells you when what parts have to be replaced and what maintenance the car should have undergone.
ok... thanks guys!
Mazda 3(2003)...At 190,000km is a wee bit overpriced for QR 24000.
My Calculator says a Price of QR 18,000 is good.
He is justified in asking more as the car would look relatively new and enchanting with the modifications. But still you could say the major repairs would be borne by you as the major repairs start from 200,000kms.
Check the Service register to see if he has done regular service with the Company. Ask him to move the vehicle after parking overnight to see if there have been Engine-oil drips on the road below the engine.
If engine oil is leaking never buy the car
Things wiil start from the Tyres - Check if they are worn-out, Check the break & the feel of the Clutch.
AC gas will have to be changed.
See the underside (since Mazda has a low central body part) to check for major damages.
Also remember you can buy a very good Suzuki Alto for QR 30,000....ie is if you are single or a couple (without kids). (EMI Qr 500 for 5Yrs)
Suzuki Alto No.i car in India :)
Mazda 3 is a superb car. I paid QR 6500 cash and The loan is QR 1510/month x 48 months. Bought from the shopwroom and Bank loan, insurance and registration all done by Mazda agent. This car is very popular among the Philippine expats here
mafiriyals, did you get it cash? or installment? how much monthly? what dealer company? i might consider buying a new one also? is it mazda 3 good?
QR 65,000 :)
thanks guys! hey mafiriyals, did you get your mazda 3 brand new? for how much?
190,000km is A LOT!
i think you may want to consider another car.. otherwise, in a next couple of years you might spend on reparing and fixing this car twice as much as its price! it's just not worth it!!!
Note it's not the milage it's done, but how much is left in it.
I wouldn't touch anything over 100K & at 190K this car has very little milage left in it.
At that mileage it would be exactly like buying a lottery ticket. No telling how much more you'd get.
Although the same is true for any car you buy, once you get over that 100K mark, the odds of trouble increase significantly.
Cars just wear out, despite how well it's been looked after.
My Mada 3 2006 Model Done only 15,000km for 2 years :)
pinoy, with 26.000 QR you can have:
Mitsubishi Lancer,;
Model: december 20071,3 cc; automatic;
only 25.000km - odometer;
silver colour
Damn new.
Call Mr.Jabar (sigle owner) and take the car:5837296
hey ramshinaudsha! thanks for posting your comment... well, the car that i am talking about here is from http://www.qatarsale.com/...so, im sure we are talking same thing... i just wanna know if the price is reasonable for that car or too high... these are the specs:
2003 model mazda 6
grey in color
with mags rim
high spoiler
mileage of almost 190,000km
lowered
beige interior
A/C is questionable
break bonding is thin
A/T transmission
power window
price is QR24,000
what do you think guys???
with the specifications listed above, for how much would be the reasonable price?
pls advice
thank you
Since it is a 2003, I agree with ramshinaushad that you can get same car with lower mileage, i.e it means that this car is a bit overpriced.
u can get same model car with low mileage.. chek out dis site..
http://www.qatarsale.com/EnMain.aspx
thanks to the two of you (vignale and magic dragon)..
well, the car is 2003 model, grey in color, lowered, with a high spoiler, mags rim... i think that's all... more advices please....thanks ...
Vignale is right about the wear-down of engines in colder climates. You should also know that cars nowadays are produced to run 150.000 miles (= some 225.000 km) without major repairs.
P.s. that is, if they are maintained as per the maintenance schedule.
I am not familiar with the Mazda 6(it's japanese and I hate Japanese Cars)
So what model year is it ?
Generally Mileage matter, but todays Cars are so good that they last a long time if they have been serviced regularly.
Which is usually not the case here in ME. Mileage matter less here than in colder Climates, where Cold Starts wear down engines quickly
