Does Any One Own A Pathfinder 2006 (New Edition)

i own a pathfinder 2007, but do not know how to use the 4x4 properly. once when i had rolled the car on a dune, i had switched the 4lo on. once finished duning (which was for about 5 to 10mins) when i switched it back to 2wd it took about 10mins to come back. the 4lo light kept flashing, i also tryed to switch off the engine and restart it, but the light kept blinking once i restarted the engine. i had followed all the instruction listed in the manual. i was a little frighten to use the four wheel mode again. could anyone advice me on how to use the 4x4 mode efficiently on pathfinder 2007.
